Who is dreading Bank Hol Weekend?

Well we're moving back to his mum's in a couple of weeks so we're gonna get our moving heads on early and start packing and moving stuff across to take our minds off the temptation of going out shopping. Also family coming to visit us so just need to provide the Roast on Sunday which is already budgeted for. (I know very organised
)
Let's hope this plan comes off!

Not too worried. Working Sat - and then heading to parents Sat Eve for rest of weekend. Mum & I (and half of family) are doing a carboot Sunday, so should raise a bit, fingers crossed!!
I suppose having to work on the Sat breaks the weekend up a bit, and it would be great not to be working, but its extra £££ at the end of the day!
Just looking forward to the time off to be honest.!

I am in exactly the same position, thats why I'm on here! Hang in there babes, just knowing that other people are in the same position really helps. I find that it can help a bit to remember how frustrated I'm feeling now as a reminder NEVER to get in to debt again. Good luck, have a good oneTotal Debt £2178

Dreading it!
Off to Scotland for a few days to stay with family. Have'nt been up for 2 and a half years.
Thursday arrive...my birthday so have a few drinks- take up some wine
Friday...lunch with mum - money spending starts
Friday...dinner in nice restaurant for 6 - we will pay for all
Saturday...party at sons - we will pay for all food and drink - more money
Sunday...coming home if lucky after spending a fortune
Monday quiet day in recovering from trying to keep everyone happy and spending lots of money!!
Can't wait...would prefer a quiet weekend, walking and watching cr*p telly.

not dreading it at all, my OH is working for all of it except sunday and the kids and i are spending most of this week baking and crafting to get ready for sunday, thanks to a few tips on here and the OS board it will be a cheap but very enjoyable day, i hope.
Last year we filled the childrens small paddling pool with the balls from their ball pit and hid tiny eggs in it, the children loved the treasure hunt, so may do that again this year. If the weather is nice enough we may go for a walk in thw woods, but if not we have lots of games to play and dvds to watch.
Plus some of the bank holiday weekend will be spent getting everyone ready to go back to school next week. So really apart from sunday bank holiday weekend will be much like any other in my house LOL.
OH working and me entertaining the children :rolleyes:Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

why not go for a nice long walk somewhere? park, country, nature reserve or something?
take and emregncy five pounds, so you can treat yourselves to coffee/ice cream if necessary. but you wont be able to spend anymore if thats all you take.
or go visit relatives, or spring clean the house.....know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Well, I am doing cleaning for most of the weekend but on Sunday my friend and I are treating ourselves by doing a car boot sale! Woo hoo! HOPEFULLY we should be making money and not spending it. We're taking a pot of tea with us and some biscuits so hopefully no money spending there!

the bank holiday wont really be any different for me. DS1&2 off to their dads this friday for a long weekend, so just left with DS3 and DD. we shall be watching tv, playing in the garden and chilling out. i will be doing some baking and batch cooking and ironing last of uniforms ready for the childrens return to school next week. with just the younger two here fri and sat night, the house will be mine from about 6pm when they will be tucked up in bed! friday evening i might re-watch the new harry potter which i watched last week but the kids asked me questions all the way through lol!! saturday i will watch a bit of telly (in peace lol) have a nice bath and an early night...probably sounds boring to everyone but to me its heaven..i actually get my hands on the remote lolNovember NSD's - 70

I hate bank holidays. Everything's closed when you need it, regular timetables, schedules and patterns are up the crapper for a week, you don't know if you're coming or going and worst of all people you hate use it as an excuse to visit. Uuuh0
