I've bumped into you on Payment a Day and also on Debt Free in 2009. I'm also engaged, so I've subscribed to your tread and will stop by and have a nose now and again.
Good job on the ebay sales!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -

havent been on my diary for a few days so quick update. i managed to sell about £160 of stuff on ebay in total (yay me!) so have been slowly paying that off empire. im now down to a comfortable £28.26 balance! whoop!
Natwest want another 4 weeks to look at my ppi claim (damn!) so that will be dragged out another month!
reducing my overdraft this month to £50 (yay me again!) other half still has my credit cards out of my reach. i just know for sure i would have used them for something or another. so yeah, im on the road to recovery! will report back when i manage to pay off empire completely! xxxxCurrent Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
Just a quick update! ive managed to pay off empire completely now! whoop! plus my credit limit on that is looking good - 2900! most credit ive ever had on a credit account.
On a worse note, i looked at my credit report to see if anything needed amending this week and found a few things. firstly a debt with o2 from back in 2005! that was for £239 so i paid that right up (went back into my overdraft)
also seen that natwest had me as defaulting on a loan, which i didnt, the error was due to natwest setting up 2 standing orders rather than a dd. so ive written to them to amend it or to put a note explaining incase future lenders think im a liability!
and also a dodgy note from welcome finance. i paid the balance up last year after never ever missin a payment or having trouble to pay yet they have put on my credit report it was a 'partial settlement' im fuming as i think this was a c0ck up on the call centres part and they shudnt take it out on me! so a letter has gone to them too!
pay day is just over 2 weeks away and i have nothing left except £35 for shopping! roll on 25th! lol! xxxCurrent Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
Havent been keeping this up to date over the past few months!
To start with i ended up getting paid £750 conpensation for my loan ppi so that went straight of the loan, along with a few more monthly payments and that came down to £9,000. then my other half kidly put half onto an interest free virgin card and his grandad lent me the other half interest free from his savings so im very lucky indeed and have saved about £3,000 in interest.
I claimed back successfully £101 in ppi from capital one along with £62 of refunded charges and i now use that card to buy our shopping everymonth and pay it off without fail - helps the ol' credit rating u know
Empire, i have a balance of £200 as i brought a new bike to get into shape for the wedding and that gets paid fine.
I have another very difficult year ahead of me as i try to pay off £9,000 loan (now split up and interest free!) and save £7,000 for our wedding!
but fingers crossed i will make it before i get married! now, back to getting MSE debt free!Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0 -
ooh and forgot to say tonite, im going to scoot around for things to ebay, also going to have a look and see if i have any gold to sell as the price is lovely and high - every little helps!Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0
