Hi Primula, have read your diary as it is a new one and means I can keep track of it without having to catch up 50 pages first! Am going to nick your idea of putting the daily food money over to the credit card or saving pot for each day you don't spend it as I think that is a great idea and will see the balance shrink easily! i bet you can get rid of that annoying £60 just by doing that a couple of days a week!

Hello everyone and thank you all for popping in. No extra payments made today unfortunately, although i have not spent any money again today on food...........but this could change yet. I have had the day from **** today at work, then I came in and the house is an absolute tip (just how I left it this morning - when are the magical cleaning fairies going to arrive at my house?!), I have an ironing to frighten the french as they say and the whole house is messy and needing hoovered, cleaned etc. It's getting me down now - how can things build up so quickly and how does a simple thing like that get on top of me so much? I feel like I need a day off work just to run around and get it all done, but that's not going go happen. I also have a few hours overtime to do this week - about 4 in total hours of my choosing and I want to do it for the money but I want my house to be nice again too! Sorry for the rant, I thought this might make me feel better, but maybe chocolate would work? I am going out later to my dance class so maybe that will cheer me up or maybe I should stay at home and do some dreaded housework?! Decisions decisions!
Hope everyone else is well and a lot more organised than silly old me.

Dance around the house picking things up as you go and with cloths / dusters attached to your hands, you will be done in no time!

Put the ironing in the airing cupboard and when no-one has any clothes left they go to the airing cupboard and scrabbles around making everything even more creased until they find something that's theirs.

Well that's how it works in my house most of the time lol.

My struggle is with DD2's toys all over the lounge floor, does my head in but as fast as I tidy them she makes a mess again so I give up most days until it's bed time.

    Hope your evening improved.

    THE IRONING IS DONE! :j

Feel so much better now, made up a list today of things to do in the house and just got stuck right in after work and it feels great. Even got tomorrow's tea all organised. BTW, Lidl have 4 tins Branston beans for £1 just now. And I had a bottle of Stardrops bathroom cleaner I got in the Pound Shop a while ago and just started it today, it's absolutely fantastic much better than the ones I was using with bleach in.

I have just made another payment to the cc of £7 from the shopping money so really pleased at that.

Time for bed now, although I still feel wide awake after my busy night. Hope everyone is well.

    Night night all.

It's officially an MSE fact now...debt and housework (or lack of!:o) are unavoidably intwined.

No extra payments today, but I didn't spend any "shopping" money either. Will need stuff tomorrow so keeping it til then, and if I have any change it will go to the c/c.
House still tidy. Even did the ironing that came in off the line tonight! :T

Check you out getting all domesticated and paying off the credit card!:T It's amazing what can be done when you put your mind to it isn't it.

What are stardrops by the way??? Sounds worth investing in!

Hi Primula, thought I would drop you a note to say...are you sure you're not me??lol

I have to say I am very lazy and tend to not do any housework. Am having friends over for a sleepover tonight so I had best get my a** in gear for it. Ironing? Whats that?? hehe I put the stuff away and if it needs ironed it gets done at the time. Sheer laziness if im honest!!

You are doing so well though, I cant believe how much you have paid in such a short amount of time. Well done :-)

Thanks guys, I am amazed at myself too! I put a load of washing on this morning before work and hoovered. I just need to keep it up. That'll be the hard bit I think. Hoping this diary will help though.
Kirstenc - I laughed when I read your post re ironing stuff when you need it, been there, done that, and probably will again! LOL
Karen - the OS board speak about their Stardrops - it's a cheaper old fashioned cleaning product I think. I managed to get a 750ml bottle of Stardrops bathroom cleaner in Poundland so prob not much cheaper than what you can get in the supermarket, but I swear it was so much better and it doesn't have that bleach smell, maybe it's my imagination but my bathroom seems to be gleaming! LOL
    Have a good weekend everyone.
