Hi everyone - thanks for all your input - it's lovely of you all to share your experiences with me.
AnxiousMum, yes there is a Dad. He is my ex-husband who I divorced from in 2002. Following the divorce I pursued an 18 claim/battle for child support. I was awarded £100 a month for the three children and then followed a very stressful period during which time they made three attachment to earnings orders and he persistently job-hopped to avoid them. In the end I told him I would bring the kids up myself since it was embarrassing pursuing such a small amount just on principle, since he clearly had none. He's now gone on to have two more children with his wife and neither of them work. He didn't contribute to the family when I was married to him and I accepted that he never will contribute a long time ago. People eh? ;o)Wendy x0 -

I totally understand where you are coming from with regards to giving up on the CSA. I have been waiting 9 years for them to sort out payments from my oldest 2's 'father'. Last time I spoke to them he was still unemployed apparently, although he was never actually unemployed and got done for benefit fraud at one point. It gets to the point where you would rather not waste your phone bill anymore
