    Hi all,

My sister and I fancy doing some baking today but are a bit stumped for ideas. We want to make something sweet, not too bad for the waistline, any suggestions please??

In our stores we have the following:
    - flour plain and SR
    - sugar: brown, icing and caster
    - stork
    - raisins & walnuts
    - plenty of colourings and flavours
    - cocoa powder.

I don't want to buy anything as today is to be a NSD.
we have no eggs thought, think thats where we are stuck!!
    Thank you!!

  • I didn't put a link in? Have you got the orange underlined links? They are a real PIA and have only come on to the site in the last day or two.

    Shortbread biscuits or Gingernuts
    Here's my recipe

    85g Margarine
    170g S R Flour
85g sugar (white or brown or demerera)
    1tbs syrup
pinch bi-carbonate of soda or baking powder
    1 tsp ginger

Melt marge and syrup, add the rest of the ingredients, stir well then use a generous teaspoonfull of the mixture form into balls, flatten with a fork.
    Bake 12-15miins at Gas mark 5 180C
I make about 15 biscuits with this.

    Vinegar cake! :T

I read that on here recently. You can have you cake even if you have no eggs!

We have tons of eggs as our chooks have started laying after a rain induced mardy spell. Are you in Wakefield..? You would be welcome to some!
