There was a yummy biscuit cake recipe in one of the Sunday mags I saw at my sister's house at the weekend and I wrote it down but I haven't got round to making it yet. Sounds toothrottingly sweet but delish:

    110gr/4oz margerine or butter
    300 gr/10oz chocolate
    400gr tin condensed milk
    Large pack Rich Tea/Digestive biscuits
    55gr/2pz raisins
    Chopped nuts

Crush the biscuits and stir in the raisins and nuts.
Melt fat, condensed milk and half of the chocolate in a pan
Pour the mixture over the biscuits and then pour into a tin lined with baking parchment
    Put into the freezer
To serve pour over the 2nd half of melted chocolate

Not sure exactly what you mean, but isn't this a good thing anyway? Doesn't it make them easier to get at and eat?

Did you buy the cake cases from Asda? Our Asda ones do this, but the Supercook ones that we bought from Tesco don't.

Make a biscuit/butter base and press into a tin. Chill. Heat condensed milk on stove stirring constantly until it turns a really caramelly color and thickens (boil very gently for about ten minutes). Pour over biscuit base. Chill about 1/2 hr. Then pour melted chocolate over. Millionaires shortbread!

I read somewhere that there was a problem with the a$da ones doing this. Probably on here somewhere....that's how I knew it wasn't my fault when our new ones did it. I'll be sticking to the supercook ones for a while and taking the others back for a refund I think.

    Hi mrs tooti-frooti,

I use the caramel condensed milk to make banoffee pie with a crushed biscuit base. Just layer sliced bananas onto the base, then spread over the caramel and top with cream and sprinkle with flaked chocolate.

For the ordinary condensed milk I use it to make fifteens:

    15 digestive biscuits (crushed)
    15 glace cherries (chopped)
    15 marshmallows (chopped)
half a tin of condensed milk (approx 200-250g)
    dessicated coconut

Mix the biscuits, cherries and marshmallow in a bowl with the condensed milk. Roll into a long sausage shape on greaseproof paper sprinkled with the coconut. Chill in the fridge for a couple of hours and then slice.

These threads have more ideas that may help:

Pecan Pie??? I made one for the first time at the weekend and it was lovely - expensive for the nuts though and that was a small pastry case.
