I had a very similar one about a month ago. I am always getting these spoofs. That is a good one though - it is the first one in a while that actually made me log into my account ( directly through paypal own website!)0

Today i recived an email from paypal saying that my bank had contacted paypal re some attempts of charges from your credit card with paypal , they gave me a link to click on that looks the same as when i sign into paypal and asked me to confirm my email address and password, this looks 100% like the paypal site but i dont have a credit card registered with paypal only a debit card, could this be a con ?0

go to https://www.paypal.co.uk
login that way and if its legit, it'll be there too. NEVER login through a link in an e-mail!!!
I got caught (nearly) with a similar scam on ebay!!
Also, when you click the link in the e-mail, have a look at the URL that comes up, is it a secure url (e.g. httpS) or is it dodgy looking (i.e. http://www.generic_free_hosting.com/ripofflogin)

I suspect now that you have at least opened the e-mail and they know your mail account is live that you will get a few more e-mails within the next few days. I normally forward mine onto paypal & eBay but I got fed up of the qty of them and normally just delete them now so at least they cannot see that I have read the message.
Will Paypal & eBay ever catch-up, I doubt it and yes I know I should still do my bit and forward them.Regards,
Dave
If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button

If you're using Outlook or Outlook Express, go into 'Tools', 'Options', 'Receipts' and tick 'Never send a read receipt'. That way, no-one knows whether you've opened an e-mail they've sent you, or not.I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0
