    is that total or each?

If £2200 each I can recommend Spice Island, Grenada, Caribbean. Total relentless luxury.

To go again I would have to re-marry but my wife says no one else would have me!

It was an extravagant honeymoon but it was reward for a careful money saving wedding.

£2200 each still doesnt sound enough for AI for Granada?........I was pricing it up for myself the other day

Best Hotel./ resort ,for me probably Jumeirah Beach ,Dubai ,however price would make your eyes water .

I'm not a great lover of AI ,but its a shame your OH wont consider Egypt because I think it fits your criteria , and imho a great place to holiday

I would go to Meeru Island in the Maldives. Get a water villa all inclusive should be in your budget!

Forgot to add if its winter sun hol nov-mar then Gambia is a wondeful place to visit and has some great 5 star hotels doesnt really do AI but can get half board within your budget in a 5 star and I would def not go AI in Gambia as wouldnt experience the wonderful cultures and restaurants they have. Can recommend staying in Banjul the capital or Fajara (if visit Fajara visit the butcher shop which is just that by day and a fab restuarant at night owned by british guy)

I have been to Gambia too. Very nice.
But if that is OP's style I would personally recommend India. We went to Gambia last Feb, to Goa this Feb and I 100% prefer India.

Also for that money you will be able to get AI and 4 star easily.

Hi Chatbug we booked the Iberostar Grand Paraiso last weekend for FEB 2010 at the local First Choice shop and managed to negotiate a good deal,i have just looked on line this lunchtime and it has increased £180 per person since yesterday !!!!.This is a fabulous hotel and compared to some of the other prices quoted it is well worth the difference but you must go and negotiate a deal i managed to get some £200 per person of the price quoted today at the shop.

Just wondering what the best hotel and resorts you have stayed in and the reason why you class them as the best.

This thread is very short on why people have labelled a hotel the best hotel they have stayed at. ;)

I'd second the Jumeirah Beach for best hotel, mainly due to the service. Don't think you can get AI though, and the food/drink is very pricey.

The best resort though for me is Meedhupparu in the Maldives. You might be able to get a break in Feb / Mar within budget. Does "limited AI" and is the most relaxing, beautiful place I've ever been. Great diving and wonderful food, very romantic.
