To be perfectly honest, I wasn't even aware I could withdraw cash from an institution I had no business with. My only fear now is that this will set a precedent for ATMs where We'd have to use a machine provided by our own banks in order to circumvent any charges.0
-
Agreed - I didnt know you could do this either
Do worry about atms charges coming back though...there arent any natwest atms anywhere near me and I live in Central London *rolls eyes*0 -
We have a bank at work which is Natwest and we can withdraw money using that, depends on bank but HSBC you have to bring in cheque book and stuff.
Hope they don't charge, theres nothing around here, in middle of an estate!0 -
will soon charge fees to take out money at rival bank counters in the UK and abroad
Another reason to ignore the news ticker. This site is turning into the Daily Star with its sensationalist headlines.0 -

The detail says otherwise.
Thats what I thought.
From what I can gather NatWest customers will still be able to withdraw cash over the counter free at NatWest branches but will be charged if they do the same thing at any other banks branch including RBS branches.0 -
As I understand it, this is just for Visa debit card holders.
If you have a Maestro card you are not affected.0 -
You will only get charged if you withdraw money over the counter at another bank ie RBS or Lloyds TSB etc
However I agree its cheeky that RBS customers will have to pay over the counter at a Natwest branch and vice versa.
When essentailly they are the same organisation.
Please refer to the new T&Cs its detailed on page 10
