Landlord keeps entering locked room

Hi,
Im wondering if you could give me some advise. My landlord keeps entering my room without permission. I keep the room locked when Im not at home. The landlord has a key and thinks this means he is entitled to enter the rooms I rent whenever he wants. Ive tried to point out that this is in fact illegal but it hasnt stopped him. I feel like going to the police but not sure if they will take me seriously.
Thanks for any advise

Does your landlord also live in the house?I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

He did before I moved in but not since.0

Yes im female. I have cameras but they failed while I was away. I have my suspicions that he turned the electric off to stop them working as they are usually ok. I know its illegal but he keeps entering on the pretext of looking at the boiler. I would go to the the police but dont know if they will take my complaint seriously?0

He's not allowed to enter the house without written permission from you, let alone go into locked bedrooms. It's trespass and a criminal offence.poppy100

Ring police local office and ask to report it. Speak to PCSO and get log number. It's utterly wrong the landlord does this.0

He cant enter without giving 24 hours notice and can't even afterwards if I dont grant permission.0
