Well I tried for the free install, they were not shifting, I said I had BT Vision and all the rest and was happy with it but they were not shifting.0

Well I rung up and I got the HD box for £30 with 3 months free phone line rental and the first months HD for free. I also got the £25 Tesco vouchers thrown in. Not totally amazing but I took it.0

Just like to reply to Moneymaker
I received a brand new Sky box in the original white Sky box, it was sealed and it had a small yellow seal across the plastic bag cover of the box....also I have a 12 month warranty not the usual 3 months that you receive with a refurbished box.0 -
Yeah new installs are usually just that - new equipment. On occasions when an engineer comes to fix and they have to replace the old box they'll often issue a reconditioned box an provide a 3 month warranty. Occasionally if the engineer only has new kit with him you'll get a brand new one.Just like to reply to Moneymaker

After reading this thread, we had a go with sky. Currently we have Bradband, phone and all TV apart from Movies. Last time we asked for a Sky+ box, we were quoted £99 for the box and £69 installation.
Today we tried to cancel and got offered a Free refurbished box with £30 fitting. We turned that down as wanted a new one.
We were then offered a new box for £29 and fitting at £15.
I told them I didnt want to pay a fitting charge, so as a comprimise, he said he couldnt waive the fee but would credit our account with £15 as a good will gesture.
So I agreed the deal, paid up and the installation will take place on Tuesday.
Its certainly worth a go!!0
