Has anyone found out how to wipe a 'deleted' payee from Halifax online banking, rather than having status: deleted next to it? It makes no sense that you deleted a payee, but all it does is suspends the payee and calls it 'deleted'.
It does make it easy to reinstate should you need the mandate again!

I would prefer to keep it, but have it at the bottom of the list of mandates.

No way that I know of to shift it, but if you reinstate it and amend it you can change the whole mandate over to something new (e.g. a credit card, overpayment to a mortgage account with another lender, transfer to a bank/savings account with another company etc).

    Clever! Thanks for the idea.
  • I was hoping there would be something more than a 4 bullet point "review" of 3 banks.

I currently use Abbey mainly because I find it so easy to manage my 3 accounts (1 x Current, 1 x Easy Isa, 1 x E-Saver) and move money instantly between them.

Great interface, providing you can remember your card number (a practice I've been doing the last few years :)) and your password and security codes you're in no matter where, including on an iphone :)

This is probably the one major thing that is keeping me from switching bank accounts now im debt free.

HSBC is by far the best internet banking!

Slightly annoyed I have moved away from them to Lloyds.

Find lloyds online system a bit rubbish to be honest compared to HSBC. Always having to fiddle around with the menu on the left, having to change pages on statements rather than all your previous spending being listed.

Halifax is pretty good though and am very impressed with it so far.

Abbey isn't bad, but it isn't special either. But at least it's better than the CS :D

And it really really really annoys me that deleted payee's still appear on your payee list!!

    Yeah what is that about?

I am with Abbey and Halifax. I think they have very good online systems The abbey is a bit of a pain to log into. You have to put in your entire card number, and guess what happens if you lose the card. yep, you lose the online service too. Halifax has a user name which is better.

By the way I used to be with the Bank of Ireland. I was there as a friend of mine logged in, hasn't changed a bit. Rubbish logging in system and little services.
