Tevion vision (aldi repair people for 3 yr warranty)

Just bought a 19" LCD TV with built in Freeview & a DVD player this morning, on offer from Aldi with a 3 yr warranty.
If/when I need to :money: the warranty number it's 0871 663 1540, quite a hefty charge call that no doubt will go on & on & ON.
I tried to get hold of a geographical number from the saynoto0870 site but found nothing.
Anyone got hold of one cheaper than ringing the 0871 number please ?

I can't answer your question directly but should it develop a fault I would return it to the store I bought it in. Under the "Sale Of Goods Act" the store has the responsibility. No way should you have to pay for premium rate phone calls and postage and packing0

I would " cross that bridge " when I came to it, you may never need the warranty.;)0

Not that keen on bridges !!
It might have been a very easy answer from someone who's bought something with a 3 yr guarantee from Aldi & could advise me as I haven't a clue if their guarantee is worth much. Was hoping to buy similar from John Lewis as they ARE great & offer a 5 yr guarantee with their TVs but seems they only sell large screen ones.
Thanks Bob. That certainly would be our port of call within the 1st year but they'd only tell us to ring the number given, we all know they would.0 -

In fact any time up to six years under the Act and also EU legislation.
Yes they probably would try to get you to ring the numbe, no harm in them trying. When they realise you are aware of your consumer rights they will comply.0 -
I too bought this today, 2 in fact, we miss out every time but today my hubby quede up before shop opened to get in quick. I wonder if I should have bothered , both tv's have a very annoying cliking all the time coming from the dvd player, the only way you can remedy it is by keeping a dvd in it, not ideal! Going to ring up their helpline tomorrow in case it is able to be remedied , if not they will have to go back, shame as kids been waiting almost a year for one of these and saved up Christnmas and birthday money for it. You can even hear the noise above the volume if it is at reasonable level, can't be a one off as both tv's do it.0

Did you read the manual? Sometimes there's an instruction like "Remove cardboard packing piece from slot before use.'0

Hi Mellywoo, exactly the same problem HERE !! Hubby was going to return it in morning. I'll wait to hear from you so please post what helpline says. Did you ring them ?
I am not receiving emailed notification so have to click on a link I'm keeping.0 -
I rang them today lunchtime and they have had quite a few more calls about this, manufaturer has noted there is a problem but didn't know what to do and to temporarily put in a dvd to stop it, I said I did know the dvd trick worked , but why should I have to. They were trying to solve this problem he said. I am returning them though tomorrow as it is far from ideal, it would probably come to them visiting each house to fix it , if they could find out what is. But I am not going down that route,it may develop more wrong with it after the 28 days and then you have to call them out, shame as the spec for the money was great. I would have preffered without dvd anyway but they haven't had one for a while. My advice is return it .0

Yep I went through the trouble shooting. You only tend to have a cardboard protector on the ones that the drawer pops out or a flap comes down, this is an internal slot.Moneymaker wrote: »Did you read the manual? Hi mellywoo
Thank you so much for posting the information. My husband's now packing it all up to return later & he will advise their manager too so, if anyone asks him, he'll know the problem exists in all these TV/DVD combis just sold, seemingly. As you say though, it's a shame as it should've been great for £159.99
My husband (he's 61) was chatting to a woman much the same age Sunday morning as they both waited for Aldi to open & she said she'd had a few Tevion items & all had been excellent. That was why she was wanting one of these.
Once again thank you for saving me the trouble & expense of a call myself. :T0
