AVOID ALPHA SUNGLASSES unless you want to buy really bad quality fakes!

Whoever said they're from Australia, with the bad English in the emails and the fact the package had Hong Kong postmarks, I'd take a guess at saying they're from Hong Kong.
Did the website say they're genuine? If so, surely you can do something under Trade Description?
If you want genuine designer sunglasses for £30-odd, try going to TK Maxx, where I've seen Vivienne Westwood, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren and Lulu Guinness for example.

I too was unfortunately conned by Alpha Sunglasses. Their website appeared genuine. I ordered two pairs back at the begining of June (10 days prior to my holiday in the South of France). Their website states that they deliver within 7 days, so I thought the sunglasses would arrive before my 3 week holiday in the South of France! No chance. They arrived in the 3rd week of my holiday. I was so excited to arrive home as I thought I had purchased a bargain, but was immediately deflated when I saw the packaging was from HONG KONG! I knew then before I even opened the packaging that they were fake and I was right. I did in fact order two pairs, one D&G and one Dior, but only the D&G ones had arrived. The glasses to be honest weren't too bad, but the case was appalling quality.
I subsequently dropped then an email saying that I had paid for two pairs and only one had arrived and also said that I suspected that the glasses were fake. They replied saying they would look into the matter, but in the meantime could I send them some photographic evidence! I did so and have since had no reply.
I have since sent them 3 further emails requesting a refund for the ones that didn't arrive and also a refund for the fake ones I also threatened to contact Trading Standards etc, but to no avail.
I certainly won't be duped again and will stick to buying from high street stores or airport duty free in future.
Will keep you posted, if I get any luck in getting a refund.0 -
I've also been ripped off by Alpha Sunglasses. I placed my order for 3 pairs of glasses on 14 June 2009. Before I go further I need to just point out that I didnt expect them to be genuine, but they still looked really good on the site. I also believed that I was purchasing from the USA as that is what came up as I was going through the payment. It wasn't until early July with no sign of the glasses did I start to make enquiries, and intially was told that they didnt have my order... after numerous emails they then said that the ones I ordered were out of stock, so i had to choose 3 more - which I did. To date they havent arrived and they have provided me with a tracking number, so ive spoken to royal mail and its not in the UK yet. They also said on the mail to track on their version of tracking - and yes its all in chinese, so i put that info into one of them translator things on google - and apparantly its in beijing international airport - which is a bit of course from the USA. I've now contacted my credit card company and told them and they are sending me a disclaimer which i sign and they refund the amount to my card, they then cancel the payment with the merchant bank. the problem I have is that on my credit card it is saying something about Footwear Vendors and nothing to do with sunglasses. The whole process as been unbearable, and now to read this with the descriptions of how rubbish they are, Im glad Ive started the process with my card company to have the refund. This is the very first time ive been stung by a website company and its not a nice feeling, from now on I will only be using those companies that I know are genuine and the idea of a bargain just isn't worth this head ache.
Wish I'd found these comments before I found Alpha Sunglasses but you live and learn!

Totally agree - the sunglasses are awful. DO NOT ORDER from this website. Plastic rubbish! As Wimbley123 says 'You live and learn!'0

i too have been ripped off by alphasunglasses. they sent me a FAKE pair of prada sunglasses and they will not give me my money back. they told me the same story that they would take weeks for them to receive and they would end up lost if i retuned them but the biggest joke of all is that they said they would deduct $20 as a cost for their stock and shipping and advertising costs even if they did receive them (i have never heard anything like this before ever) they sent me an email admitting that they do sell fake sunglasses and that it was my fault that i didnt check with them before placing my order!!! it does not state anywhere on their website that these sunglasses are fake. they have offered me compensation of $18 dollars which is an absolute joke,i too have threatened them with trading standards but to no avail. this is the first time that i have been stung by an internet sale and it has been very very very distressing and is not a nice feeling. i would certainly advise anybody thinking about ordering anything from them to steer clear.:mad::mad:0

I'm gonna say it again:
If an offer seems to good to be true, it usually is...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I agree with the poster above.
Did you think you were honestly going to get the authentic product at that price? How could you? (unless the goods were stolen - and we all know buying that stuff is just plain wrong)
I think it's more the fact you got duped (by your own sense of greed aswell) and now you have to pay the price.
in your case that is $18. well im sorry but for £9 that is a lesson well learned. If you think you could possibly pursue a debt that small through the courts the judge will no doubt form his own opinion anyway!
But thankyou for bringing it to every other potential sucker's attention.
The internet has made a lot of people very rich.0 -
Hi, I ordered 2 pair of sunglasses from alphasunglasses on JUly 2009 and I received after like 3 weeks only 1 sunglasses - they are different color, shape and they are scraped. They are still refusing to refund me any money.
The latest email from alphasunglasses:
Thanks for your pics. We got them.
As solution, if we would like to make some compensation, can you keep the sunglasses and take it to any shops to repaire?
Wating for your reply.
Regards,
Customer service
 Can you believe it???
DID SOMEONE OF YOU GOT ANY REFUND ALREADY???
