Establish what is happening by obtaining your router statistics.

...and get both yours and your neighbour's line stats for a comparison...
it sounds like an internal wiring problem, comparing stats will help identify what's going wrong where

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is simply rebooting the router, especially at on 'off peak' time.0

Connection Speed downstream 4064 kbps
upstream 384 kbps
Thanks for that. This is what my netgear is showing but I am still only getting 130kbps according to the speed test site.
I have spent ages searching in the loft for an old modem to try and determine if there is a fault with my hardware. Have finally found a BT Voyager 205 and downloaded the software but can I get it to connect
.
Anybody remember what I need to do. Connection status is showing connected and the DSL is alight but internet will not work.
Many thanks.0 -
You probably need to input your broadband username and password into the modem interface in order to authenticate you as the account user.....still got the setup disk ??......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Along with the connection speeds you've posted, can you also post the other bits, like line attenuation up/down, SNRM up/down, Power up/down...let's at least see the full picture...e.g.
Downstream Upstream
Rate (Kbps): 5248 800
SNR Margin (dB): 7.3 13.0
Attenuation (dB): 48.0 23.0
Output Power (dBm):12.6 19.8......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
