    Hi

I dont think they have a MC Platinum. I called and asked if they could adjust credit limits to the different cards.
Actually had a letter today from them and they have increased limit to 12k:eek:

I only managed to get £260. The only credit card I have had before is one with the HSBC that came with my graduate bank account which has a little over £3000 limit. Should I just transfer £200 over and make the minimum payments for 8 months to build up a credit history or should I just cancel it?

Because HSBC have only just started to share 'in order' account information, Barclaycard probably cannot see that you know how to manage a credit card - hence the low limit.

You may as well use it to build up a credit history. Worth checking your credit report too, just to check everything is accurate and that you are on the electoral roll etc.

    Good luck

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
  • Thanks Rafter, I believe I am on the electoral role. It's not a huge problem (I'm just paying my HSBC card from savings rather than stoozing my student loan payoff). May try for a store card next month as well.

Got my Barclaycard through the post yesterday with a limit of £5300.

They did a credit check with Equifax only.
