Do not mistake understanding for realization, and do not mistake realization for liberation. It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
but if they run up a debt in their own name a partner should not have access to the letters as they wont be addressed to them.
In this case all the letters / parcels will have been adressed to the OP.
Still easy to do, for me I was at work when the post/deliveries cameso it was long time before I cottoned on. Im guessing much of the £600 is interest and charges rather than goods.:j0 -
surely a restaurant/bar job would not be an early start so i cant understand how you missed the postman everytime.
It may be a late night, though. From my days of working weekends in a nightclub, I would often not get out of bed til at least 1pm, sleeping right through the post, breakfast and everything else in between."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

Mmm. so do you think someone could have pulled the wool over your eyes for a year an a half?
if you think yes, you deserve all you get.0 -

did it take you 18 months?
how and when did you "cotton on"
end of the day, your mum has ripped you off. you can either accept it or report her.
its up to you where you go from here.0 -

Restaurants do serve breakfast, and a LOT of preparation is required for lunch service too. Besides, my post doesn't arrive until almost mid-day!
Mishy, hopefully CAB will be able to give you some good advice on where to go with this, but my gut feeling is that you'll end up with two choices:
1) You report your mother for fraud
2) You don't report your mother for fraud, pay the debt, accept the bad credit rating, and accept that all your hard work to build up that credit rating has now been ruined.
Without reporting your mum for fraud, even if she sells any possessions she has to pay off the debt (tv? games console? mp3 player? dvd player?), then I'm not sure you'll be able to get the default just removed from your credit rating.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

its strangely comforting to know someone else has been in same situation. its true i cant bring myself to shop her an after ive followed halloways advice , if that doesnt help ill just hav to pay it . good luck with urs x
also big thanks to those who take me at my word . it acts as a comfort an spurs me on to try sort it out.
as for all you doubters out there not all people are lying schemers. my place of work was open to public frm 8.00am for breakfasts. i had to leave my house at 7.15am. so yes it was easy for her to hide an id never suspect that she would do something like that to me. it wasnt till i got the phone calls frm them asking for their money ( yes she also gave them my mobile no ) that i knew anything about it.0 -
It is very easy for people to say shop your mum but who could,i found out mine got a loan with providence out for 5000 in my name and address with the women saying why not do that as she had 2 already in her name thank god she paying it but what if she stops I was very angry as this stranger telling her to use my details and what if she did stop paying back i could never shop my mum.0
