  • I'm bidding for one of these hammocks on ebay at the moment, without the fabric. After seeing this post I contacted the seller and asked if the fabric had been returned due to the recall and they said yes.

So I guess you could get your £50 "compensation" by getting your refund and then selling it on.

I'm now in two minds as to whether I should cancel my bid, what do people think?
  • Its the frame thats the problem, not the fabric. Whats happened there is that the seller has taken just the fabric part back to M&S for a refund. All they needed to do (as I've done) is cut the label off and take that back. That way, you get to keep the whole thing for free (as I've done). They've only had 2 fail in 5 years, so it's worth the risk IMO.

Lucky you - boots recalled microwaveable hot gel bottles (hot water bottle style) and kept sending out the recall letters for years - many people ignored the recall, until an elderly lady died when hers leaked.

Sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry.

Its the same wooden frame as the B&Q. I have seen the Injuries it causes, basically you drop to to floor and to add insult to injury the large bit of wood of the upright snacks you in the face or on the back of the legs. The head injuries while not going as far are causing brain injuries does causes very bad head wounds.

You need to regularly check the bit between the wood and the metal brackets.
