  • I think I just felt a bit 'ooh' about the postage as I only put in a little order - just to test them, like, as you do!
This is what I did, as you say just a small order to start with,,,,,,till I took a second look and realized I had ordered catering tins of olives and tomatoes, and the measly 1p was for a CASE not a pack

You lucky duck, though! What a bargain! I'd have that and I don't even like olives :D Perhaps you could make your own olive oil? :p
  • Well, I think someone might have made the same mistake as me because I found a thread asking if they can be frozen, luckily they can,,,,,,I always save the oil that they come in for stir frys never waste it,,,, we eat olives like sweets, so might not even have to do that

I think it may have been me who asked if they can be frozen. Both my kids and OH love olives, but even they couldn't eat that big tin in one go! Good point on the oil though - thanks for that :)
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Thank you for asking about the freezing, I got my order on Monday, guess who now has only 11 opposed to 12 cans of olives to get through?
As a matter of interest anyone buy the sweet pepper finishing buoillon? I thought it was a kind of stock cube.....what do I do with 400 portions of the stuff? Add it to cous cous? That is all I can think of off hand, brilliant if I hadn't bought bucketfuls of the flavored stuff

When I make any tomato/pepper/bean soup I add a dash - really helps if you've made the soup with water rather than stock (I find all stock cubes too salty, so unless I have a chicken carcase or ham bone to boil up I just use water). It also adds a little something to bortsch.
  • I have bought the veggie bake, we tried it tonight, nothing wrong with it but not to our taste.
Does anyone live or know anyone in the Kettering area that would like some I have 4 cases of it.

I received my first order today and am extremely pleased with it all! The vast majority of it is well within the sell-by date - one product's label says Dec 2010!! The two items that have past their sell-by are Twixes and Toberlones which will be fine, especially as I can't see them lasting very long in a house full of women!

Second order has just been put in! I can see this becoming my new obsession!
