  • Right, finally I can comment on something nobody else has (I don't think)
Not that it's up on site at the minute, but the Winary Mayonnaise is very nice.

I was a bit dubious about buying it because I've had cheaper supermarket brands before and not like them - but this is fine - eggy sandwiches all round!

Ive read on here I think and also on packaging that Winary products are made by Nestle so it should be ok. We bought the Polish Sour Soup which although I haven't tried it personally seems ok. xxx
  • Both types of Kohinoor rice treats are very nice.

  • Has anybody tried the diced apple before? I was thinking it might be useful as a pie filling ...?

Its dried Apple, so would have to soak for a while for use in a pie, but its just dried fruit with a bit of fruit juice and a preservative, so might be ok and will store well.

If it's the Fruitabu you are talking about, you could not use it for a pie filling. I did a trial for Bzz with this product and it's nice but the apple pieces are more like crisps in their size. I think they created it to make a healthier alternative to crisps which would appeal to children so good as a snack but not much else! HTH

The fruitabu blackcurrant and raisin was pretty hard stuff, it really had to be soaked a bit before use.
I am sure my mum used to put Tiptop on fruit flans, hmmm that was about 25 years ago! It tastes a bit like Dream Topping if my memory serves me.... ;)

Hmm, now not sure what to do. I was thinking of simmering it with some blackcurrant or rhubarb, but if it's in thin slices it may go to nothing ....

I do like my fruit pies though:o
