Forces Wives/Girlfriends Website....???

I think it is a great idea...however I'm not sure the armed forces would like you to collate information about bases.
I think you'd have to be careful what kind of information you will be putting onto the web. The forces are already quite vulnerable as it is.

I've got a BIL in the army, stationed in Germany atm. He regularly goes off to Iraq for a tour. I don't think they'd appreciate the world knowing when they are about to step into Iraq.

You will have to research this idea first and ask the MOD what you can and can't say. Even the chat rooms will have to have some sort of security. It might be that members would have to be registered and vetted.

Maybe the lack of decent alternatives is because of the security risks involved.

thanks. I know 100% where your coming from.
I've been looking at sites but none of them really seemed aimed at raf girlies etc, they've quite a good one but it's mainly army.
I would just like something that focuses on gossiping and girlie stuff and perhaps tourism of the area near the base, nothing personal about the station as such.
As I've sitting here though I realise I can gossip and be girlie on here lol

stay here it's much more fun,there are some forces/forces related people on here and people who have partners working away etc.......................:D

OH going next month so I'll no doubt be doing a count down to that and for the next 2 years!!EEK

Hi Princess_G - I hope you stay on here and talk to us - I'm sure there are quite a few people on here who have been / are going through what you are.

My fiance has just left the RN after 8 years, but I know what it's like to be where you are. I hated it while he was away and felt very lonely as no-one knew what it was like to be constantly "waiting" for something.

Still, the best part about him being away was counting down until he came back again. I made a planner and had it on my wall at work - he had exactly the same with him and we could both count down the days until he'd be back again.

(The soppy bit) I made my OH a book with a page a day with a reason why I loved him on it - it gave him another way to count down the days!

I'm a Navy Wife (also ex Navy myself) and hubby is out at sea for the next 3 months...so I'm stuck at home alone with 2 toddlers (one that has just been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease) AARRGGGHHHHHHH

I don't know of any website that are exclusively for 'Wives', as for getting funding from the MOD to do one - more hope of hell freezing over.

Are you moving out to Germany with him? Do you live on a RAF estate?

I hope you find other people with things in common and if you want to chat PM me.
