OK, so who told you that a Kia Ceed has a " Bosch " engine..
BTW, I agree that Mazda are very reliable cars, as are Honda's and Toyota's.
My Daughter has a year 2000 Mazda 323, it has never had any faults, it still has the original exhaust and battery on it, brilliant car.0 -

Hi OP, well, as a general rule for reliability, anything japanese (toyota, honda etc) is bullet proof, anything french or italian isn't so good in general(renault, fiat etc).
Don't know much about the kinda cars your looking at but I have no idea why on earth you need to spend so much. My dad had a second hand jag until recently that cost him £3300 and was fantastic, so you can see why I don't really get people who spend as much as you're looking at on something run of the mill, if you see what I mean.
I'd take a look at a secondhand mondeo or vectra. There's loads of them about so they'll be cheap, and every man under an arch will be able to fix it for nothing, but they are very reliable so I've heard.
And while we're on wagon Rs; neighbour of mine bought a secondhand one a year or so ago and says its brilliant. Plus they got it for a song as its an auto, which no one else wants except her.0 -

everytime i look at cheaper cars they aint so cheap ...i know nothing about cars so cant go to an auction ...i would probably walk out with a bosch washing machine thinking i got a bargain...so that leaves me with garages ...they cost an arm and a leg and they aint much cheaper but have heavy milage on them and non of the perks you get with new cars like 0% finance etc .....but thats why i came on here i trust people in here they are generally bang on with their advice .....i tell you my head will be bursting by the time i am done ...0 -

You live next door to my MIL?:o Hers is an auto. Mind you its only about 7 miles to drive right round the island she lives on so performance and economy aren't considerations. I think she takes it to the mainland about 2-3 times a year for fuel. She did 18,000 miles in 20 years in her Nissan Sunny. The tyres once failed the MOT because they were perished with age.:rotfl:0 -
landy i want you as a neighbour ....0
