A quick word for Mazda on reliability.
We have had two:
A 51 plate 323F that my father bought as an ex demo and then passed to me. I ran it until December 2006 (total mileage c.45,000). Nothing at all went wrong with it.
A 56 plate RX-8 bought new in Dec 2006 (currently 28,000 m). One fault, a broken sun visor replaced under warranty.
My father had two previous Mazdas and they were also ultra reliable.
For the size of car you seem to be looking at the Mazda3 may be worth a look.0 -
wow ok ....honda civic is coming in at 28.56 second highest to suzuki then octavia is sitting at 38.33 and way way way down is a seat leon (they dont have the altea so i chose leon as it is close ) sitting at 75.64 the alhambra was double that ...now that is interesting reading0

Although reliability is important it isn't absolutely everything.
I would take a lot of persuading to drive a Suzuki WagonR+ even if they never broke down.:rotfl:0 -
cheers had a look mazda 6 (couldnt see a 3 do they still do them?) is coming in at 76.08 in reliability but mazda's are the thrid top overall....repairs well honda is the most expensive ...i think my head is going to be pickled0

I think Wagon Rs are so reliable because they are all pedalled by grannies who never go far or fast enough to break anything.;)
No prizes for guessing what my MIL drives.:D0 -
