    I just thought of something - it's a company car isn't it?

So surely it's not your problem to fix it if it's broken ?

    Ps - sorry Df!!!!

    Thanks,

Im going to look into this tonight ...feeling a little deflated :( my bf has just come home early and seen what i was doing , went mad about the sky package ect and saying he is not losing sport ect, and then moaning about the bank charge saying we would spend more then 25 per month. he does agree on the dixons insurance and sorting that out cheaper.
I managed to threaten to leave sky and get my full package reduced to 34.50 and the phone with them for ten pound a month free evening and weekend calls, still better then before but not great

I have worked out today i have earnt - £74 pounds from work
saved £110 from my electricity credit
    £15 from monthly direct debits
changed from £46 for sky and £40 for landline to £34.50 for sky and £10 for linerental and free evening and weekend calls
total off- 166.50 in one day

also any advice. I dont drive, my partner seems to make me budget 60 per month for his petrol, his car is citroen c1 with an 1.0 engine. he drives daily 8.9 miles to work and back again monday to friday , and about three times a month to his mums which is 6.9 miles, he then just uses it for local shops ect. Is 60 a month right? seems really high, all the other money for driving to jobs ect is 11p per mile

I worked out my car cost about 11p a mile in petrol then I cost about another 10p a mile for running costs if that helps? Mine is a Ka 2004 with about 100,000 miles on the clock. (1.3 engine)

At 11p per mile which I would say is about accurate I think he is right I'm afraid. It doesn't seem a lot individually but work and his trip to his mums alone add up to around 400 miles per month.
500 miles per month at 11p I work out at £55. sorry.

Send this to nationwide debt recovery, slightly modified if they have not been calling you all the time.

are a lot of different response letters for harassment by telephone floating around. This is just one example:

    Harassment by telephone

    Quote:
    Your Street
    Town
    City
    Postcode
    DATE HERE

    Company Name
    Road
    Town
    City / County
    Postcode

    Dear Sirs,

    Harassment by telephone

    Account Number: XXXXXXX

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)

I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.

I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Please treat this also as a formal complaint, and send me a copy of your company complaints procedure.

Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)

    Yours faithfully,

I run a Peugeot 107 which is exactly the same. I get roughly 300 miles from a tank, and it costs me in the region of £30-£35 to fill it up, which lasts me for three weeks.

I've totted up your DH's miles, and reckon he's probably doing just over 400 miles per month, which would be about £40-£45. Is he filling it up twice a month, eg £33 on pay day, then filling it up again three weeks later (so making it £60 a month), rather than say £10 to last til payday? How about trying him with two lots of £20 and see how he goes?
