Like I said call the bank and negociate. You could afford £50 (just about) but a double payment next month with none this month would be best. Remember it's in their best interest to come up with a plan that will help you pay it back as they want their money. You can't pay them if you don't have the money so don't be fobbed off

at the moment im paying 23.96 just to insure my two tvs ,play station and my laptop

Im just unsure as exactly what it covers eg, do they only replace not repair? if its repairable would they replace still or would i have to pay someone else to fix it

Call them and ask what's included and make a list. Ask them if x and y etc are included in the cover.

You could buy your insurance via a cashback site too. Try signing up to one like Quidco which I suppose is the best one. I got about £35 cashback for my contents insurance. I'm presently with Lloyds TSB.

Lloyds wasn't the cheapest but it was giving the best cashback amount. I think it was second or third cheapest choice.

There's a raft of comparison sites mentioned in Martin's home insurance article, and you might want to try them all to find the cheapest. Don't forget to make sure to find out what's included in each of the cheapest result.

You can also check how much cashback you’ll receive by checking the Cashback-Sites Maximiser.

You might find this helpful for the 15 hours early years education as mentioned by pandora205.

As regards to shopping, you might find these website useful:

    MySupermarket.co.uk

For top offers, but only get what you need until you've all your debts paid off. You might want to trawl through all the supermarkets mentioned on this website. You can do this by hitting each supermarkets button.

    MadAboutBargains.co.uk

And you can check prices for Lidl, Aldi etc here. Though all prices might not be listed it is a good start.

I tend to purchase a few things in the 99p Store too, and again only get what you need as you could probably get things cheaper elsewhere believe it or not. It always pays to check first.

    www.quidco.com

basically, many companies offer what is effectively an opening bribe of some cash paid directly back into your account for taking our a policy (plus lots of other stuff and shopping too) It takes you up to about 3 months to get the money back. Get some quotes first from somewhere like www.confused.com and then see if any of the cheapest quotes offer cashback if you get them via quidco. this gives you an extra discount
have a browse on the link above to see how it works in full

I actually got £42 cashback for purchasing insurance via Quidco, I checked this earlier. Lloyds TSB’s contents insurance was £52.41 meaning I only paid about £10.41 for it after cashback.

There’s more information about cashback sites here. Sorry I keep bombarding you with info but do try and look in to it if you can and maybe consider adding some to your favourites for reference.

Cashback sites aren’t 100% guaranteed but they do generally payout. You can also enquire if they don't, they do tend to look into it if there's a problem.

    hiya everyone,

thankyou- i am still reading everything you have suggested and reading more posts on this site. Have been going through all my debts, i have realized - it is not as bad as it seems, i dont have a mortgage, my total single debts add up to 5750, and i know i can cut back a hell of alot and try and pay it off bit by bit. Just by cutting out silly things i waste money on. I normally spend around 5.20 a day in getting to work so i have decided starting tomorrow, i will walk therefore saving me 26 pounds per week, 104 per month (5 days per week) this is going to be put in a piggy bank and spent on my debts each month. I told my boyfriend today about cutting back on things so i can pay of my overdraft so we can have another child and he was fine. I also think my stepmum will agree to doing the extra day instead of childcare which will save me alot.

I had a great day today, we took our son to the science and industry museum today and then for a walk around town and had some sandwitches we brought with us! All it cost was petrol money! had a really good day , my little boy enjoyed it!No SPENDING!

Next week - i have sorted i have cancelled my bt direct debit( im changing to sky and also was in 80quid credit, saving 40 pound, and my boyfriend is only having 20 for petrol until it runs out instead of all in one go
  • i am guessing you are like me and have more than one mobile contract but only actually use one of them (oh the temptation of that new shiny handset).

You mention you have 4 of them, you use one, your boyfriend uses the other. and you pay 35 and 40 (was it?) for the other two i am guessing arent used. even though you are in a contract you can still amend the package you receive. Call the providers and you should be able to reduce the monthly payment of the ones not used to around £15 to £20 for each.

you could also send your old handsets to one of those phone recycling websites like mazumamobile or simmilar for some easy cash.
