I don't do road numbers, but it's something to do with the A453. Anyway, you want to go the way that goes through Donnington village. Roundabouts are your friends. When we went, there was a queue for about a mile in one lane, but the roundabout has 2 lanes going onto it and then 2 going off the way you want to go. People only use one lane, so you just use the other one!

Then on the way out we were lucky coz someone sneakily opened a gate right in front of us, so we were straight out onto the road.

    What are queues again?

If you want to help Renault with some feedback about the weekend there is a survey on the World Series website.
    Direct link is here.

    I'm sure I saw several MSE'rs -
    a. One lady at the entry gate asked for a 2nd free radio for her 'friend who had gone to the toilet'.

Oh..oh...OHHHHH...that was my daughter!!!! LOL!!!! funny thing is, just before I went to the loo, I'd asked her how many MSE'ers she thought we might be walking next to without knowing it!!!

  • I went yesterday and today have filled in the survey the day was brilliant great motorsports day weather perfect although food was rather overpriced and the jacket potatoe stall near the spitfire tried to overcharge me twice £1 for the jacket potatoes and 50p for the tea, really enjoyed the day out even more than last year

We also went yesterday and had a wonderful time. Weather was great, family thoroughly enjoyed themselves what more could you ask :D

Thanks again to Lisaab70 for her help in getting us there!
  • This was my first sporting event.
Thanks to the original poster regarding the free tickets i would never have gone.
We had a huge family weekend in our caravans and picked up loads of freebies from Renault. Renault Solid Silver keyring, Clock, Silver luggage tag and of course the radio.

The thrill of the day exceeded my expectations, my daughter loved the fun fair just fantastic.

I really hope it happens again like this next year.
Thanks again for posting the link.

To be honest there weren't as many freebies this year, last year we got earplugs, and free bottle of car shampoo, along with posters and pens. This year we got the radios for free, but think they were ones left over from last year that came free with the £5 programme, so they obviously didn't have many, and 2 of ours have broke already icon9.gif

  • We all had a fantastic time at Donington so I'd like to thank a few people.....

Tunesurfer - Many thanks for your original post. Without it I would never have known about the free tickets.

Chocmonster and Starlite - Thanks again for the great advice in reply to my post. We followed your advice and had no trouble parking, had no queues to get in or out, found some great places to sit and view the action and had no problems with the loos.:j

Savvy - I agree, MSE badges are a great idea.:T

dickibobboy - We haven't got Sky but would really like to see it if you could manage a download please.

Littleange_com - I agree with you about the litter aspect. I really get mad when I see people get up and move off leaving a pile of litter behind them. There were plenty of bins around so it was not hard to drop your litter in one as you passed, was it?

kit - Sorry you missed out on all the freebies. The Renault stand were giving out hats, clocks, luggage tags, posters, pens and postcards on both days. Also in the Renault Service tent (provided you could name the five faults on the car there) they handed out goodie bags containing car air fresheners, pens and lots of leaflets. If you asked one of the girls there they also gave the kids a keyring and a pair of earplugs in a container that hung around their necks. In the big centre (Paddock) Renault showplace you could get more posters, postcards, CD's (still not tried this to see whats on it) plus, if you entered the competion for the Sat/Nav you got more car air fresheners. Not forgetting the free Radio's given out at the entrance gate. Better luck next year kit.;)

Thanks to all who helped us enjoy such a brilliant weekend:T :T :T :T :T
