  • No shower, no refund!! What a surprise!
I've just sent off a letter to the credit card company enclosing copies of all emails etc. I downloaded a template for claiming under section 75 of the consumer credit act from this site and amended that to suit. Let's hope it does the trick - I'll let you know. At least they should be blacklisted by Mastercard so that's a few less suckers they'll be able to con.
  • I'd be interested in hearing from satisified Babylon Home Spa customers who have placed orders since March.

Given Mr Dennison is aware of this thread, I thought he'd have had something to say by now.
  • It's now been SIX months Steve Dennison aka Babylon Home Spa have had my money. Despite exchanging one hundred and twenty eight emails, yes that's right, 128 emails - I'm still waiting on my refund.

He has said so many things to me and never delivered anything - including my refund. Steve Dennison is a thief! This crook deserves to be put out of business for the way he's treated me and countless others.

Given my experience with this so-called company, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!

Good luck to all the others that are in the same boat and trying to get their money back.
  • Hi everyone, cant believe i just found this thred after months andd months of battling with Babylon Home Spa aka Mr Steven Dennison aka Alexander Mertsalova. It seems that i was one of the lucky ones if there is such a thing i did actually recieve some parts of the showerand when chased up the rest found out just how corrupt this crew are. After logging a complaint with consumer direct and them contacting all the addresses above via recorded on my behalf the outcome is still that i have to persue them myself through the small claims court. I have every intention of doing just that and after reading this thread i beleive as a collective voice we could shout loud enough for whoever hides behind the Baabylon home spa front to here us. I have quite a lot of information gathered about this little company including mobile numbers which always seem to be answered irrately. Am sure your all now aware that their phone number is merely a buffering call centre to keep annoyed customers at arms length and the london trading address yet another front.I dont suppose anyone will have noticed the Safebuy.org symbol vanish from the Babylon website, i found out they had been using that fraudulently and complained to the following address mediate@safebuy.org.uk may be worth some of you guys telling them how annoyed you are as they soon managed to force action. Julia the ever so nice lady who takes your money over the phone who informed me she was the mother in the family run business can be contacted at last check on 07502147045. Another email who will be very interested in the bouncing letters we have experienced is fraud@companieshouse.gov.uk and most impotantly is to blog at every available opp using the words Babylon Home Spa so new and potential customers can be warned. Let me know if anyone is interested in a group case against 'The Bab' as i have plenty more info. I do hope steve is watchin!

Unfortunatly no ... barclays debit card can't do anything about it ... as company is not bankrupt or anything. Also trading standards/consumer rights were no help either.

Oh well ... will learn from my mistakes. Buy form a reputable dealer!

    Sorry just seen this thread.

Its irrelevant if the company is bankrupt or not. Visa Europe give similar cover on Debit cards as Section 75 cover. If goods are not delivered or are not as specified you can claim under Visa Chargeback rules The only trouble now is you only have 120 days from date of purchase or the date it was due to be delivered.

Given you have already tried to claim within the timescales I would go back to your back and ask to speak to a supervisor who hopefully has a modicum of training and resubmit your claim. You have the date you spoke to your bank and they record the conversations. Phone in the first instance but you will need to put it in writing.

If you don't get anywhere I would consider a claim against your bank through the financial ombudsman

  • I just received a refund from the credit card company. They are going to approach Babylon Home Spa's bank to get their money back - I wish them luck, they'll need it.

At least Mastercard will cancel their merchant's account which might save a few other people from being conned. If anyone does intend to start a group claim I will be happy to provide info etc. but obviously cannot put in a claim for a refund as the credit card company are dealing with this now.

I can confirm Barclays did then give me back my money i paid via my debit card until they investigated. However just last week iv received a letter from Barclays saying after further investigation and because it was paid so long ago they wont be able to do anything ... They took the money back and told me to contact the merchant to recover my money!!!

    Whats the best step now?

Well, I contacted the CEO of Barclays directly with all the details about my case on Tuesday stating please investigate this for me and don’t pass me back to "someone in customer service". Today have received a call from his team saying they have refunded the amount after investigating.

Success.... well at least I have my money back :) Never going to use an online site to purchase anything anymore!

P.S. Anyone who has still not received their money contact the CEO of your bank. You'll get a quicker & more efficient response.
