Hello all,
I was just wondering who has had success reclaiming credit card charges, from which company, but only if theyve been charged £12 per claim not £30 or £35....
All of my charges are £12 or £13 and not sure if its worth it!!
Thanks all...

i have exactly the same query being that i have over £100 worth of £12 charges on two separate cards. i've sent my first letter and mint have replied saying they won't refund and to take it to the financial ombudsman. is it worth doing this? i've heard that they can only help you get back the difference between amounts (e.g. difference between £12 and £35 etc) or is it worth going through the courts?
sorry to barge into this but didn't want to start a new thread when have a similar question.0 -
Write to them again and clearly state that you will be happy to take them to court and gain additional interest and costs from the court. £12 is not a fair charge and ONLY a court can decide a fair amount.i have exactly the same query being that i have over £100 worth of £12 charges on two separate cards. i've sent my first letter and mint have replied saying they won't refund and to take it to the financial ombudsman. is it worth doing this? i've heard that they can only help you get back the difference between amounts (e.g. difference between £12 and £35 etc) or is it worth going through the courts?

oh, also, i have been offered f&f settlements on 4 out of 5 cc's. im just waiting for the letters confirming this. is it not worth doing this, and carrying on with my dmp until ive sorted out the cc charges claim?0

I would not do F&F's if you are reclaiming the charges since they can equally pay the charges off the debt.oh, also, i have been offered f&f settlements on 4 out of 5 cc's. im just waiting for the letters confirming this. is it not worth doing this, and carrying on with my dmp until ive sorted out the cc charges claim?0 -
thanks for that.
can the financial ombudsman help you get £12 charges back too?
will more than likely go down the court route but am just curious.0 -

thanks.
do you think it's worth trying the financial obmundsman first then and going to court if you have no luck with them or is it best just to go straight to court?0 -
thanks.

Ring the FOS and ask them the question on how they consider credit card claims. If they consider the whole amount and not just the £12 ones then go to the FOS, if not then go to court.0
