Hi all -I'm back from work. Emergency generator lorry still providing our power at the office as still no grid electricity in my part of Dartford.

Decided to try to do the exam this morning & power stayed on through it (thank goodness!) All done & I'm through! I got 62/75 so a Merit pass :) Free of study so can play catch up on comps without feeling guilty about not studying - woohoo! So relieved as it was so hard, a lot of the questions they asked didn't seem to be covered in the study material so lots of gut feeling guesses, which can't have been all bad :D

Feel like I'm walking on air now & bf will be taking me out to the pictures & a meal to celebrate :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

About to make a lemon cake for the Scouts open evening tonight. Unfortunately the instructions are in French (bought the mixture there last time we went) so am translating it online (seem to have forgotten most of the French I learned at school:rolleyes: - brain doesn't want to work sometimes) and the translation is quite funny. Here's one bit

'Butter your grinds and deposit to the bottom the leaf of paper sulfuris! cut in round. Pour the p^ate by over. Done to cook to average oven in the superior party of the oven (To See cooking picture above)':rotfl:

Thankfully I've worked out what it means by that. Love the 'superior party of the oven' bit :D

    ETA Next bit

When softness is cooked, leave to rest it 10MN in his grinds. Then remove from the mould it and leave to cool it completely. Sprinkle your sugar softness freezes before tasting:rotfl:

    That's hilarious enigma! :D

I have around half an hour of time to myself left for the next six weeks or so. My children break up for their summer holidays at 1.30. Peace will be shattered!

They'll be like little whirlwinds whizzing through the house, dropping uniform, lunch bags, books etc in a heap, raiding the cupboards/fridge and then leaving a trail of devastation! :rotfl:

    :hello: Everyone,

Hope all is well.I had won a competition on Twitter last night to see the band The Saturdays, sadly I told Becks Beer thanks but can you redraw again to let someone else go and they have done as I requested so tixs wont go to waste but they did say they will try and get me a goody pack for being a winner so I havent lost out.Go me woo.Saw friends at church and two friends brought their dog in and its so scared of people and kept barking etc at us and it was on a Muzzle which it doesnt like,It did let me stroke it at times but then it went back to barking alot again and snapping. The people hope to work with the dog to get it out of the habit of barking and snapping. Its a Jack Russell dog and its gorgeous.

    Afternoon everyone.
Tucking into a banoffee desert from M&S and it's good! :) Went in there to get the dine in for two for £10 thing for dinner tonight - looking forward to that.
Also phoned the manager in the dept that has advertised a job I'm interested in - he explained more about it and it does sound more targeted than my current role (and more money) so I'm definitely going to go for it.
Oh, and my tombow pack arrived from the National Office Week competition yay. :) Got two pens and some glue on a roll!
    Hope everyone is ok.

    well done VG :)

We're off to view some properties in Chester this afternoon. Had a look and it will be much cheaper as OH won't have to pay toll fees everyday so fingers crossed we see something we like.

Still nothing in post for me :(

Oh my work has suddenly started taking swine flu seriously! Every office has been issued with disinfectant wipes (they stink!) and hand gel, all the office kitchens have been cleaned with disinfectant, and they've sent round a 'swine flu policy'! Ok then.
