    Hi Jon

Me and mine have just spent a week in Scotland, I hadn't been there since I was little and my kids have NEVER been that far up the UK!

We did it with the Travelodge tennertastic deals £10 for a room for 4. The ones we chose had Little Chef with them (Edinburgh Musselburgh was great), and got 2 for 1 deals off their site.

Godders drove as economically as possible (no good me doing it icon11.gif) from Southampton to Edinburgh.

We went to see the Royal Yacht Britannia and Camera Obscura all for free with the Tesco Clubcard Deals (worth 4 times as more on these than using in store). We were also lucky to get into Edinburgh castle for free too as it was Scottish Heritage weekend icon12.gif Oh and can THOROUGHLY recommend the Withcery Ghost tour! No money off vouchers but a fantastic night of entertainment!! (cheers Edilass!! icon12.gif)

We picked up a leaflet up there that showed where all the castles were, so whenever we were driving past we nipped in to look at them, but didn't actually go in, and sometimes we had a picnic in free gardens nearbyicon10.gif

We also used Clubcard vouchers (boost your collection here) for eating out, got free meals with them and also had a £10 voucher for Brewers Fayre

Oh and on the way back down the country we nipped into Sellafield visitor centre which is free too! And stayed with family in Cumbria and explored Lake Windermere and the Lakeland shop!

Basically we did our whole trip by using a lot of links and advice off here
    :j :T:A

    I reckon it would be possible to do the same for any part of the UK you want to discover, just need a bit of planning in advance e.g saving up Tesco points and booking Travelodge. And then lots of scouring of the different boards on here for offers/freebies;

    Vouchers
    Different places
    Things to do

And then perhaps Grabbit and Shop but don't Drop boards.
Whatever you decide hope you have a good one icon12.gif

    What about centre parks?

This is not your normal Butlins style camps. My wife went on your hen weekend their and she loves it. We've booked to go this June with our first son of 13 months. Plenty to do for the kids and as a famliy.

I'm guessing it won't be the cheapest in the summer holiday, but what will be?

Hope this adds to your list of ideas

I can thoroughly recommend CenterParcs - I absolutely despise anything remotely Butlins-y or 'kiss-me-quick' but this is right up my street, relaxation for the adults and activities for the kids.

Only problem is I would think £750 might not buy you a holiday during the school holidays - but try and find out.

You can have two different types of holidays there, one where you spend nothing and eat your own food and merely chill out in the villa and use the (excellent) indoor and out tropcial swimming pool (free!), or you can blow a ton of cash by doing all the activities under the sun, eating out every night and pampering yourself...

Somewhere between the two might be possible on your budget?

Have a look here for some budget coach holidays:

    http://www.travelscope.co.uk

We went to Amsterdam in October for 3 nights B&B and travel for £99 each and then we went to Rhineland Germany for 3 nights B&B and travel for £50 each. They pick you up almost from your doorstep and that includes the ferry crossings too.

LOL obviously haven't reached Chiswick then icon12.gif

Seriously, I'm assuming things like holiday camps and package holidays to Spain where they lay on the tacky entertainment

Hehe, walked into that one didn't I? :) I guessed that might be what it was- just never heard it referred to as that before, then suddenly two people used the phrase in the same thread!
