totally agree with you - but this can be done without any payments taking place and I stand by my statement that these people prey on the weak and vulnerable.

when I was a teen, many years ago, I saw a 'spiritualist' who told me that I would live by the sea and marry someone called ***** and guess what, it came true. She also told me that I would have 5 kids, I would never meet my real father and my hubby would work 'with his hands' - all totally wrong.....these people are chancers.....there are people out there who are genuinely concerned and want to help people through their problems (CBT therapists / counsellors etc) who are qualified and experts in their field (and monitored closely by the authorities).

But your life is not over yet. Can you be sure that you have met your real father. Have you had DNA done. Who can say that you will not divorce and marry a man that does work with hands and has children bringing the total to 5. Maybe your husband will change his career path or maybe contracption will fail and you end up with triplets or something.
I don't mean anything by my comments, especially in with regard to your Mum, I'm just trying to show that it is not over yet there is still a possibility that these can happen. Especially as she got one part of your life correct.
Therapists and counsellors will delve into your history and try to drag things out of your subconscience with the intention that you solve your own problem. A psychic may only give you a ficticious piece of information that may make you happy at the time to boost you into seeing a clearer picture. No harm really except to the pocket.

I am not into psychics but about 6 years ago I had a reading done by a lady who was doing readings for free at the local craft fair. The psychic told me I would meet and marry a solider within 12 months, he would be injured at war, we would struggle to cope and after a 2-3 years things would take a dramatic turn and it would be my choice if I wanted to continue the marriage.
She said if I gave it a shot, the marriage would improve dramatically and I would be happier than I had ever been - This has all come true.
She knew I was adopted, she knew I had a genetic illness and she said I would get better within a 6 months of meeting my husband and the doctors would be astonished and it happened - there was no way she could have known any of that is there?

I know that 99.9% of psychics are fake and prey on the needy and vunerable but sometime there is one that has a genuine ability. Finding the genuine one is hard though and I think the one's that charge are unlikely to be genuine, I asked the lady who did my reading why she didn’t charge and she said she had been a gift to share with others and gifts are given freely.

I hope you find someone to guide you but please don't get taken it by the fakes that saturate the market.

My husband has a very common name - I have dated 3 other guys with the same name

A lot of places are 'near' the sea in the UK - depends how far 'near' is

I know I have met my real father - I don't need DNA (or question my mum) to prove who he is

If I get divorced I can promise you that I would never marry again

Even if I did get pregnant again there is no way on this earth that I would have another 3 after that

Do you have many friends in your area? I'm sure if you asked around somebody would be able to recommend someone to you. Personal recommendations are the way to go.

I'm sorry silverbird but all psychics are either out and out scammers using what are called Cold Reading techniques allowing them to seemingly get "hits" all the time when in fact they are leading you a merry jig, Or they are people that genuinely believe they are psychic but in fact implement the same or similar techniques to the scammers without realising it.

Why give £50 to someone who has no more insight into the future than your average house cat you may as well burn the money for all the good it will do.

There is a fund for anyone claiming to be a genuine psychic, If you can prove your ability in a scientific setting then you will be given £1,000,000 it's a study that has been going since the 1960's and noone has won it yet, Answer me this if Psychics are genuine why has noone stepped forward and proven their ability?

Once you read into the techniques used (as i have) then you will realise how easy it is to shift your language slightly so that the person visiting the psychic will not be able to tell the difference between cold reading and what they dub "genuine psychic ability"

Sorry to ramble but i find the subject absolutely fascinating and have been studying it for more than 6 years now, I have never seen one instance of Psychic ability that could not be explained by Cold Reading and generalisations.

Sorry to burst your bubble psychic believers.

Anyone that would like some further reading on the techniques used send me a message and i'll PM you some book names. (either that or as another poster suggested watch Derren Brown's "Messiah" in which he debunks many spiritual claims including some of the big organised religions)

This site (which I have no affiliation to whatsoever other than as an occasional user) is completely free and very simple to use. It is certainly cheaper than a psychic!

What you need to do is read Christopher Brookmyre's book "Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks". It is fiction, but it does explain exactly how claivoyants etc 'work'. If you are having problems, the last thing you need is to be preyed upon by a con artist; because that is what they are.

And if you want to be moneysaving; don't spend it on rubbish.

Can someone explain this then......
While I was having my reading the tarot reader said the following.... He spoke about two sisters that were close, they would be pregnant around the same time but the one with the lighter hair would have an abortion.
I couldn't work it out, I have two sisters but it has only been the last couple of years that we have been close. Although one of my sisters was with me that night. I have darker hair than her now although I was blonde when I was a child. I had friends that were twins so presumed it was them he was talking about.
Then a year or two later my sister announced she was pregnant, a few months later I realised I too was pregnant. My baby died inside me and I had to have an abortion to remove it.
How could he say that without knowing? Are abortions that common that everyone will know someone that will have one, or will have a pregnant sister at the same time or even guess that the hair colour was different.

I do agree that a few will say that you will travel and that has been said to me even though I have no intention of even getting a passport. But I think that what he told me could not be guessed.
