is it just me or what but the site doesn't work!! Tried both links and nothing!

kat, have you tried typing dvd.co.uk into your browser? From there you need to find the dvd rental section and follow their link to screenselect to get the special offer. Maybe it was a problem with the site.

Edit: dvd.co.uk is down at the mo but screenselect is working. Matt, do you know if you go straight to screenselect and then enter the "DVDAPRIL" promo code it will still work?

See my post (number 27 in this thread) about cancelling procedure :)

You will get the £20 voucher just for signing up, how many discs you choose to receive before cancelling is up to you (obviously if they send the 6th one you get charged).

If I were you I wouldn't cancel too close to the expiry date because I believe they don't confirm your cancellation until they've received your discs back. Send them recorded delivery to be sure!!

This may be of help with the cancelation procedure, i asked a few questions. The support is very good, i found it helpful :)
    Dear Matthew,

    Thank you for your email.

Our records show that you signed-up on 08/04/2006 and registered on a 21 days or 5 DVDs free trial, whichever the sooner.

Which means that your free trial expires on the delivery of your 6th disc or 21 days after the day you signed-up: the 29/04/2006 (whichever is sooner).

We advise you to start the cancellation process when you have your fifth disc in your possession, immediately upon requesting cancellation, no further discs will be dispatched to you, unless they were processed by our warehouse a few minutes prior to your cancellation request.

Please also note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all discs are returned, and all discs must be returned to us before the cancellation will be confirmed. All discs must be returned before the next billing date following cancellation to avoid any further charges. Once all discs have been returned, the cancellation will take effect immediately and a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Should you have any more queries, please feel free to contact us again.

So really, you only get 4 discs, unless you signed up for the "1 at home" offer rather than 2
Please also note that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all discs are returned, and all discs must be returned to us before the cancellation will be confirmed

By that i think you can cancel and then they will give you some time to return all the discs.

My registration with screenselect doesn't seem to be activated yet even though it says it should only take an hour. Trying to close the offer you think?! Might email them if they are helpful, matt.

If anybody wants to sign up i would wait until the site is up again. The code seems to be changing regularly to stop being going direct to screenselect. If you enter the wrong code (last i saw it was DVD52 yesterday i think) then you may not receive your voucher

I think I will just start the account and wait for the voucher, cant be bothered to build a list and have to return it all.

Hope I still get the £20 though.

    You should get an email:
We can confirm that your card details have been verified. Your ScreenSelect account has been activated and we are now working to rush you your first DVDs.

Keep anywhere from 20 to 60 titles in your Selection, don't forget to prioritise by ranking your titles 1, 2 or 3, and remember to rate each title to fine-tune the recommendations you, and everyone else, receive.

I doubt that, they wouldn't close their whole site for it. Probably just having a few technical issues, should be up soon hopefully :)

You should do, i would wait 5 days or so, and then email dvd.co.uk if you havent, got mine after 3 days (i know it says 48 on their site, but that's just to cover themselves i think)

I should do what, build a list?

I don't want to risk the dvds being lost in the post and then having to fork out for them.

Be sure to build a list of at least ten unique titles otherwise your subscription won't count for your £20 voucher, its in the t&c somewhere.

    Edit: here it is:
The registration process includes providing a current e-mail address, password, home address (so ScreenSelect.co.uk can send out the DVDs), credit or debit card details (to verify identity) and creating a selection of at least ten titles. Only users who have fully completed the registration process to sign up for the free trial will receive a £20 voucher. The £20 voucher will be dispatched within 28 days of registration

dvd.co.uk is back up and running now by the way
