Free £20 dvd voucher

I registered last week. I got my £20 voucher 4 days later by email. I never asked for any DVD to be sent to me. I cancelled my membership last night.

I got smart registered for 1 dvd at home at a time changed to 2 dvds at home at a time (oops) didn't read small print which says if you change during trial they grab your money and screenselect took £9.99. BE WARNED under no circumstances will they refund (4 e-mails sent) I agree with previous comments, DVDs poor quality and I did not get my first choices. All in all a BAD experience, customer services quote the party line in all comunications, and of course no voucher yet!!

I am still waiting for my £20 voucher. An e-mail from dvd.co.uk says to wait 28 days.

I applied for the free trial via dvd.com, got my £20 voucher and have received 6 dvds so far. My end date was 3/5/06. Only after I discovered I'd been charged £14.99 on Friday 28th did I realise that my joining email says:

First payment date: May 03, 2006 (earlier if your 6th DVD rental is before this date)

Because it's a bank holiday I can't get through to them today but I can't understand how they can justify this. I didn't ask for that 6th DVD!!

Hi Alison,

Unfortunately there are always 'catches' with deals like this. They are waiting to trip people up, so they can start charging. It's up to the individual to cancel when they receive their fifth DVD, otherwise Screenselect automatically send more out. I don't think there is any way round it, so you will just need to remember to cancel at the end of the month they have charged you for...

I don't understand that.

My next payment date says 2nd May, but I'm on the 5 DVD for free trial.

I've only received three DVD's so far, does this mean I'm still going to get charged anyway?

Charleneuk.. I think the trial was x amount of days OR the 6th DVD (what ever came first).

I've just tried to cancel and they have told me if I can't get my DVD back for the 1st May (obviously CAN'T) they will bill me as usual! I don't understand how they can do this when I signed up for a 5 DVD trial!?

ETA: I understand that it would be either or, but I was pretty certain it was 5 DVD's not 21 days or whatever, I'll call them tomorrow, and reverse the cancellation if I'm going to be charged anyway!
