The people he usually covers just don't have any holiday booked at the moment for various reasons......school holiday peak prices being one of them! He has a reasonable number of shifts already booked in for September when the children are all back at school.

They also have a "bank" of casuals, which is swelled in the summer months by uni students, so there are more people to fight over the available work, whereas in term time, there are fewer casual staff looking to pick up the shifts so more goes their way.

I've just managed to pick up a coffee mystery shop for tomorrow :T

Good morning all, Supermarket STILL not taken money from my account! Could barely sleep last night for the excitement of it!

I don't blame you for taking the short term students Hypno, at the least the end of their stay is always in sight and that makes it more bearable. I am think of letting our spare room, might advertise it at Uni.

Very hot here today, the humidity is rising already I think - boo. Also public holiday today, isn't it lovely being at home and getting paid for it?

TFI Friday :j My last day at work for two weeks :j

The short term student thing is working out reasonably well I think - 2 or 3 weeks at a time is not too long - if we get one we don't like, we know they will not be with us for ever! Having said that - all those we have had so far have been lovely!

I have a mystery shop to do on my way into work today. It involves buying coffee so is all good :D

I also have a bid on ebay - it finishes tomorrow and I was starting to think it would go unsold......so happy there.

It is pretty empty because of the need to pay for China........so I am starting from a low base!

Also, in the first couple of weeks of the month, I tend to pay more to the Egg loan to get rid of that - it currently stands at £1837 so we are getting there!

Of course, the big "savings" are supposed to be building up for the barclayloan - which stands at £10,197  so we have rather a long way to go....

still, all the mystery shop money etc will go towards it, and I will get there!

Enjoy the wedding, surfbabe! I can't actually remember when I last went to a wedding - they seem to come along in clusters.....rather like funerals! None for months, then 3 in 6 weeks or something.....

Loads of houses in the paper that I could seriously look at if we were not in debt  Very peed off that I am in this situation
