Hypno's approach to life, the universe and debtbusting.....

Good morning Hypno & co, white rabbits and all that first of the month nonsense. Time to electrify the doorbell in preparation for all the trick or treaters who will be descending soon - call me a Scrooge but I think there is something dodgy about letting your kids wander the streets on dark nights knocking at strangers doors. And when you are in for the night you don't want to keep on answering the door to people who seem to expect you to give them money( suppose that could apply to debt collectors as well! ) Anyway, time to get off the soapbox and say have a good day.One life - your life - live it!0

I have to say that this is the first place I have lived where I feel comfortable on Halloween - previously I have been one of those to sit with the lights off, pretending I am out.
However, in the village we live in, it is well organised with lots of accepted but unwritten rules and it works really well, and makes it an enjoyable rather than intimidating evening. While it works like that, I am happy to take part.....as soon as it shifts in "tone" I will be shutting my curtains, turning off my lights, and pretending I am out again!
In MSE news - just rang up Barclays for a settlement figure on my loan, and amazingly they have offered me a loan for the same amount as I am borrowing from Halifax, but at 8.4%!!! A far cry from the 24.9% they have been charging me so far!
Part of me wants to say NO just on the principle of their horrendous charges before, but at 8.4% it is going to save me a further £240 should I have to leave it to run the full length of the loan (which I hope I don't but always thinking of the worst case scenario).......
I have a further week during which I can cancel the Halifax loan without charge - so I have some serious thinking to do!!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I would take the loan with the lower interest rate, as long as there were no hidden penalty charges for paying it off early. Let them all fight for your custom! One life - your life - live it!0

Pinch, punch first of the month and all that - it is October..
I never heard that one before! :rotfl:I logged into one of my scratchcards today to find a £5 "VIP" bonusI'm not complaining because it has taken me up to cashin on that one, so £10 winging its way to my bank account in the next couple of days.
Trust you! :rotfl::kisses3:I have £95 quidco money marked as ready to pay out which is a nice amount too. I expect that will arrive in the middle of next week.
I've got a decent amount of quidco money for the first time in months - £75.Nargleblast wrote: »I would take the loan with the lower interest rate, as long as there were no hidden penalty charges for paying it off early. Let them all fight for your custom!

Yeah, I'm trying not to break the rules by showing external sites on here for personal gain. I know it's a competition that I entered via this website, but still...
