I've just seen on the local news that there are 25 jobs available in a new store opening in a nearby town........and they have had 1300 applicants  How on earth can anyone say that the recession is coming to an end

    That's actually quite normal...

I know it sounds crazy but that's mostly people handing in applications for the sake of it, ones that are too young, and immigrants with such a poor amount of English, they'll just be thrown in the bin.

It's seasonal work, throw in the students from your area looking for part time work as they hit the hard realities of life and that's the number!

What is scary about that first post is that I admitted to £90k of debt.......when of course the total was much higher and I only admitted to the rest of it a year later :o

But I see that I was aiming to pay off £10k in the first year.......what I lightweight I had made myself out to be :rotfl:

That first post is amazing, isn't it! Hypno, I'm just staggered you know where your first post was, actually - I have no clue about mine, none at all........

I keep writing and deleting things about this recession and the 1970s... I'm going to stop being an old fart. This is a tough time right now, and its especially tough because we've had such a long period of plenty. Actually, that *is* like the 1970s - the 1960s, although incredibly primitive technologically by our standards, were wealthy compared to what had gone before.....I'll get me coat.
