I too like what Urg said. Take care of yourself and have some nice hot blackcurranty-lemony-honey drinks.

  • Sorry to hear that you are still feeling under the weather (and this means no bonus!), and that DS is suffering as well (I get the occasional migraine and when I do OUCH!), but I echo what everyone else said - you have a wonderful family that pulls together to help out, if only more people were like that!

I have been taking plenty of decongestant so my head feels a little clearer now, and have been dozing off on the sofa quite happily. DS is still asleep so I don't expect he will be going to school at all today. I too am doing the bare minimum (still in my pjs).

I am very sure that my mental/physical/financial health are all very closely interlinked, and these last few days have reinforced that, so I must strive to continue the decluttering and streamlining of my life. I am very aware that we are almost in the last quarter of the year and I want to go into 2010, which is the year we get debt free, the year that DD does her GCSEs and the year I hit 40, with far less "unnecessary stuff" on all levels, so that we can enjoy that year and all that it brings, with no unnecessay stress.

That will take some work, but I have made a good start, and I need to build on it, whilst keeping things in persective.

What a lovely post, Hypno. You really have made the footings of a wonderful 2010!

Just a thought about the decluttering that both you and I are doing - it releases pent up energy, and it can release so much that it can't be processed all at once - which is why I was so exhausted on Sunday after going through things with Wol, and maybe why you're ill now. It really is often part of the process - I know it sounds a bit New Agey fluffy, but as you say, mental/physical/financial health are all interlinked, and when we surge ahead in one, the others get stretched out of shape temporarily to accommodate it. Thats all. We're working at things! :kisses3:

New Agey Fluffy, or common sense and practical - whatever it is, you are quite right, KC.

  • Glad you have had another day off to give yourself a chance to recover properly.

Congrats to Miss Hypno it makes such a difference to them when they can have some independence and know they have earnt what they are spending.

2010 sounds like it is going to be a great year for you all and you are right to want to enjoy it.:T:T

2010 has to be the year that life becomes simpler - we all need to have space, physically and mentally, to get the best out of all the things we need and want to do. Getting shot of the debt will be a huge step foward in achieving that - although I want to throw as much as I can at the mortgage, there will not be that same pressure as worrying about APRs, credit files, and managing minimum payments that we have had over the years, so the SOA should read a whole lot simpler. Physical space in the house will help with my emotional and mental wellbeing as well, which will allow me to work more efficiently at the downloads, and at my main job, which I HAVE to do well, otherwise it will be even more stressful than it already is!

I keep saying I need a life laundry - at the moment, I am just picking out the bits from the washing pile that I need and doing them as I go.....I need to get to the bottom of the basket........
