Dieting successfully because otherwise you need to move up a clothes size - oh yeah, I know about that one! I'm worried for you because of your lack of weight loss over the marathon training, but when the layout of money is involved otherwise, I bet you do it!

When I was running, I didn't lose lbs but I lost inches and looked a lot slimmer than the scales would give me credit for.

Since I have stopped running, I have eaten poorly (due to stress, generally) and done next to no exercise, so I have put on another half stone (plus) and of course all my streamlined toned muscle has gone back to its previous flabby form :o

So, a bit less junk food, and a bit more exercise, rather than out and out dieting, is the order of the day.

Really, it is more about losing a dress size rather than losing lbs.......

Have you stopped running Hypno? Commiserations. I can't keep it up either. I have decided to do a 10k in November to give me an incentive to start again. Come to think of it, I should go for a run tonight.....

Aha! I remember trying to reassure you about toned muscle weighing more than fat.... ok, your metabolism does the normal thing, you'll be absolutely fine - I envisage no extra purchases will need to be made in the Hypno household. Jolly good, carry on :D

When I was committed to running the marathon, I threw myself into the running, and really made an effort, no matter how tired I thought I was.

Now I don't have that same goal, and I have no one to run with (running clubs are all at the wrong time, because I work just that bit too late) I have no motivation to get out.

If I got another marathon place, or if I had someone to call for me, I would be able to get out there a whole lot easier. As it is, I find it difficult to do so on my own, even though I know I will enjoy it/feel better/clear my head/get fitter if I made that effort.

You do so much on the debtbusting, hypno, its almost impossible to be a self starter on running as well.

    Lots of hugs.....

I have felt so devoid of energy over recent months that I have told myself I don't have enough energy to exercise as well.

Yet I know that by exercising I will feel energised, which will make me feel better......

And I look back and wonder how on earth I managed to fit in those long long 18 or 19 mile runs week in, week out, earlier in the year! but I did....so I must be able to at least move my ever increasing backside off the sofa and around the block for a couple of miles at a time

But I don't seem to be able to manage that :o

I need someone to run with.
