Shopping is done £85  And I didn't even get a full trolley out of that  And I was taking care over value products and special offers  Ah well, it is done, and we will have to continue being careful because the cost of groceries certainly isn't coming down noticably!
Don't beat yourself up over it too much Hypno, the cost of food is still going up and up.... I remember when you used to be able to get basics baked beans/tomatoes etc for 9p a tin, now they're about 29p! That's a serious price rise! I buy mostly basics and own brand stuff, and my shopping still tops nearly £100 most weeks.... I get the whole OS thing, and would love to be a SAHM and be able to scrath cook everything, but I have to work to by the food in the first place.... I guess I could do it on my days off, but I begrudge spending my day off shopping/cooking for a whole week:o I'd rather spend some quality time with my son

I agree sarahneedle - whilst there are occasional offers, mostly things are still going up. I did buy fruit reasonably cheaply.....bizarrely, fruit doesn't seem to have gone up in price as much as other stuff.

Pasta, tuna, beans, bread, etc - all seem to have gone up by well over 100% in the last 18 months or so.....and yet we are told we are going through a period of deflation.....it certainly doesn't show on my grocery bill!

Thats very tough to cope with .... I haven't been checking historically, I must confess. Basics cornflakes leapt early this year from 35p to 46p, and have stayed stable. Feta leaped up, and has stayed stable. Pesto is so expensive that Tesco stopped doing their own.... Waitrose was £1.25 at the start of this year, now its £1.89 .... yep, the things I know offhand have had biggish increases this year alone.

When I first joined this site, "basics" really did help make the grocery budget go further, allowing us to eat healthily on easily prepared reasonably priced cheap food - big bags of pasta, chopped tomatoes, baked beans, etc.....but they have all increased hugely in percentage terms.

Someone might not think that 39p for a tin of chopped tomatoes is a lot, but a couple of years ago, I was paying 13p easily......so that is an increase of 200%! Apply that across the board, and it is very difficult to shop for a family of 4 or 5 at a reasonable price! Not impossible......but difficult!

I'm currently watching Hypno and DT pound me into the dust on free bingo :rotfl:

    I'm not winning though :D

Been trying to talk to you on the table chat KC but you're ignoring me

Havent been able to get on here until now this morning and not on properly last night very slow no carriage returns and weird looking pages  reset router and all is well.

With regard to mega tickets you can do it as Hypno described and that is the way to watch a game live but to buy tickets in advance click on the mega bingotab (just above the table to the right) when you are at a table and that will take you to the schedule and you can buy tickets there.

I have had the last of the free bingo money in my account so definitely time for a win but that gerbil person keeps winning lol

Hi DT - glad you are back on! I emailed webmaster but couldn't think what else to do!

gerbil has only won £2.93 today.......but because he cashed in a win last night, cannot cash in again for 24 hours  He keeps saying he could buy tickets with his winnings, and I am trying to remind him that we are only interested in TAKING money, not losing it

That's because it is harvest time. Food becomes cheaper than usual this time of year. Of course if everything is going up more than harvest-time is bringing it down, then things don't work so well.
