  • My paperwork pile needs tackling too.... I don't think there's anything lurking unexpectedly in there, but there's so much of it..... that might be a job for later :o

Whereas I have had one of those distracting days
eg, thought I'd better clean the kitchen floor floor (spattered a fair amount of juicing stuff:rolleyes: yesterday)
Swept up, found the compost bucket in urgent need of emptying, while I was at the other end of the garden I picked up the rotting windfalls to add to the compost bin. Remembered I'd bought a new mop head, needed a screwdriver to undo the old one.......eventually found a screwdriver in the shed, but realised the shed must have mice in it........emptied kitchen cupboard looking for bait for a trap (sonic ones need electricity, cat wasn't interested, I needed some peanut butter ) Decided to put WD40 on the screws to make the job easier next time  next to the WD40 was the orchid food, and I remembered I hadn't fed Popeyes orchid this week .......Some time later, I am NOW going to clean the kitchen floor.

Olive, thats a great description! :) I, on the other hand, have done nothing at all - went out with my sister to view the stretch of Woodland Trust wood now dedicated to my brother in law, had a cup of tea with her too, and went round a local nursery, then got the train back and had a cup of tea with some local friends. Since when I've eaten and sat in front of a dvd .... ah, its a hard life! :) I want to clip some pathside plants at the front while my neighbours are away (I feel like an idiot doing it while they're popping in and out, thats why - not cos I'm trying to kill/nick their plants :o so I must do that later. And my sister and I have made a mutual support pact about our garages - we'll do one one day, and the other the next weekend. Thats probably the most productive part of my whole day :rotfl:

Well I have sort of tackled the pile of papers in the lounge - I have binned what is rubbish, recycled what I can, and started to shred some - that still leaves a sizable pile of things to look at and deal with, but at least they are not lost amongst the empty envelopes and leaflets that come in the post......

I've done about all I can in the back garden for today - OH has been out so hopefully he can help me with the digging in the front garden tomorrow - there is one big corner that needs tackling - it is under trees and provide an ideal breeding ground for weeds and ivy.....and not for grass or anything else nice. So it will all be pulled out and dug over, and some of my famous gravel can take its place and that bit will look a bit tidier too.

Most of the ironing has been done.......but my lounge is certainly not tidy yet.....

Well done..it's amazing how much paperwork we end up with:eek::eek::eek:..sounds very much like my accounts that...they are all sorted into folders ie..halifax statements, virgin statements, bank statements, car receipts etc etc...but not worked out what we've took or spent:eek::eek::eek:

But think, OO, of all the things you DID manage to do on your way to doing the thing you originally went to do! You have been far more productive as a result!

I've finished the ironing that had piled up, but there is another load drying and another load in the washer, so I haven't put the ironing board away because I will do some more this evening.

Taxi, I have pledged on another thread to make sure I deal with all post as and when it arrives to try and avoid this ridiculous "piling" problem that I seem to get! If I deal with everything within 48 hours of it arriving, then that gives me chance to write letters/make phonecalls if needed.......and the rest can be binned/recycled/shredded straight away.

  • Hi Hypno, just popping over to see how you are. Sounds like you are having a very productive weekend, make sure you have a nice Radox bath to soothe any achey muscles!

I read with interest your £1000 per month overpayment amount for the mortgage - this is exactly what we need to pay to ensure it is paid off by September 2015 which is my goal. Like you, I am sure I will end up with another mortgage as the goal is to buy a much bigger place, but at least the central tenet still holds and we know we can kick a hole in the life of the next mortgage!

Best of luck with your MF plans, looking forward to seeing you more over on the MFW board xx

Hi ATB!! £1000 a month when I am rid of these other debts should be reasonably achievable, and I figure that if I go to the lender and show them the consistent overpayments, they will be more receptive to giving us a mortgage big enough to buy the dream house (plus any overpayments will be increasing our deposit by way of equity, which will help too)......

So far I have paid off £10 :rotfl:
