Hypno they appear to be suggesting our techniques are unorthodox?

Is your dream house starting to feel real now? I am looking forward to getting started with the MFiT take 2 challenge, though we will lag behind our target for the first 6 months at least until the debts have been cleared. Can you make overpayments on a monthly basis to your mortgage? We have set up the 20% overpayment already that HSBC will allow. Once we are debt free we will have a saving account and whatever we can save will be paid off as an extra lump sum when the 3 year fixed rate comes to an end.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0

Hi lunar - I am certainly feeling that it is achievable, rather than just a dream. My mum asked me why I was suddenly tidying up the outside of the house, was it because we are getting ready to sell
:rolleyes::o
I can overpay my mortgage by 10% PA without penalty, so that is what I will aim to do, with anything over that being put into savings which would then go towards the deposit/fees/stamp duty etc but I won't be doing that until the non-mortgage debt is completely gone (Easter-ish).Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I realised today that we are through another significant psychological barrier.....
Our total debt and mortgage is now under £200k........just. That makes a big difference to my mindset really, especially as I start thinking more about the MFiT challenge and my aim to move house in a couple of years.
Wow that's brilliant - it must feel so good to know that you're getting closer to that moveDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

It shouldn't do - I hear the number of houses for sale in the area has plummeted in the last few days - but the sale of home security devices has risen sharplyA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
