I am very excited (sadly) about the bleach/weedkiller thing - I resent paying huge sums of money for weedkiller......and the weeds always grow faster than I can get round to digging......but value bleach is 28p for 2l and therefore I could keep the weeds down without huge huge effort and expenditure.
I just hope it works now
turfy, Delia is often about.......but she sits in the posh seats, DS and I sit in the rowdy seats :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Just wondered if you could adopt the scratchcard mentality with the day to day Barclayloan savings, accumulating small amounts of money on-line and then transferring it to a better interesting earning account each time you reach, say, £1,000.
Hmm, also wondering if Shaun's weedkiller would be effective on Japanese knotweed. That stuff is evil and despite my efforts to dig out the roots, there always seems to be more appearing.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290 -
It's ok, choc - I have managed to open a high interet savings account online this morning, so I can dripfeed my pennies into that until I have saved enough to clear the loan.
Then, once the barclayloan is done, I can adopt the same process for the secured loan which is just over £11k and can get rid of that in a few months time too
I'll let you know how my weeds fare, and then you can attack the knotweed!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

That sounds like a good idea with Egg...going to look that up.0

Mmm I was thinking that too Taxi, I can over pay my(egg) loan (once the CC's are gone) but having read the tales of Hypno and Egg I was really worried about making overpayments and having them lose them. However paying the money into egg first must make it harder for them to screw up.............
Hello Hypno btw I still read! think you are brilliant xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Thanks to Hypno and Double Trouble(I think who first mentioned it)...I now have the new EGG savings account.
Hope your DD gets the job and good luck with the weeds.0 -
The weeds are, indeed, already protesting :j
I've dropped DD off at her interview - I really hope she is successful.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
What a great idea..who'd have thought bleach would work on weeds.0

Hi Buffy :hello:
I am sure everyone else will be fine with Egg - they seem quite good really - it is just that sometimes, if something is going to go wrong, it goes wrong every step of the way, and that is how Egg have been with me. But I read plenty of good things about them, so I think I must be in the minority!
Lets see how we get on once we are pure savers and not debtors......
DD has finished her interview and will find out on Monday if she has the job. It is good interview practice if nothing else, and will give her the confidence to keep applying! Fingers crossed!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
