hi rainy
glad you had a nice time away and that the sun shone for you.... We all need a break at times. I had a lovely time with some friends - bowling and pizza on Saturday - celectrating my 40th!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

So life can officially begin now savingholmes?! Belated many happy returns :bdaycake:
I do feel refreshed from the break. It makes the difference being away from home where I can't "just do this" and am almost forced to relax
Had a quietly threatening 'Telemessage' letter this morning. I initially did not recognise the account number and it does not indicate in any way who it may be from. Just a 'call our 0845 number and pay up'!
After some digging it appears to be from N Power, who are increasingly becoming more annoying now  The letter says that the account may be sent to a DCA or a County Court summons being issued. Hmm. Maybe if they sent me the final bill I have requested with the actual meter reading instead of an estimate I might consider paying them!:rotfl:
Not sure whether to respond to the letter with a 'no knowledge of this debt' as I wouldn't have if just the letter were anything to go by, or ignore and carry on fighting my cause directly with N Power.
I have completed my complaint form to the Financial Ombudsman re: The AA/Blair, Oliver and Scott and am just gathering all of the related correspondence to go with it. Complaint actually sounds ridiculous on paper "I am paying the exact same company the exact same amount to the exact same bank details as I have been for 10 months, with proof, but they seem to not want my money" Seems like a bit of a no-brainer to me!Pround to be dealing with my debts! Well a mixed bag of debt news yesterday! On the upside it was payday :j and whilst checking my bank account (which I always do on payday to double check that they haven’t accidently forgotten to pay me! :rotfl:) there was my £50 cash back for switching energy suppliers! Erm…it isn’t sorted yet! But I am not one to complain about strange incomings to my account! A huge red letter from N Power to boot, I’m guessing that this will be a daily occurrence for a while.
A letter back from Moorcroft re: the whole AA/Blair, Oliver and Scott debacle (well at least someone has responded! :rotfl:) writing to “confirm we require a monthly repayment proposal you can afford and maintain, to enable us to assist you further” Oh yeah, I know, I will start paying yet another party claiming to own this debt and let my money just disappear into thin air! Hiiiyaa!! letter duly distributed
I have my Self Assessment return to do and my Working Tax Credits bumf to work through this weekend, which I know I will strangely enjoyPround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Another letter from Moorcroft (dated just 2 days after the last letter, am still working out if that’s efficiency or stupidity :rotfl:) to confirm that they are now the ones in charge of The AA/Blair Oliver Scott account. They should be receiving my Hiiiyaa!! letter shortly so I’m sure that they won’t want it for very long…
No joy on the N Power/Scottish Power as yet. Scottish Power have confirmed that the Electricity account has been cancelled and that I need to give them a call which I will try to do by the end of the day. It looks like N Power have not allowed them to take over the electricity for some reason. For the time it is taking to sort out, I am being charged a higher rate for electricity as I am no longer paying by direct debit and it is no longer a dual fuel account
It’s never simple…
I am going to try to kick my poor attempts to Ebay up the bum today and make a start. 10 items per day no excuses! Or else!!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Phew! It has been a busy week! OH has been away so I took the opportunity to get the house and garden straight without anyone under my feet! Unfortunately the garden is still exactly how it was due to the miserable weather but I have decorated the bedroom and sorted some better storage solutions which I’m hoping will stop all of the moaning and grunting each morning when neither of us can find anything!
I have managed to re-decorate the bedroom for a record total of £18 :j and it has had paint and feature wall wallpaper, plus all woodwork etc so I’m really pleased with that! A whole new room for less than £20! :money: It is far from finished as I’ve only been able to work on it in the evenings but it is a vast improvement.
A couple of letters have come in to say that my payment agreements are up for review – BLS Collections for Lloyds TSB CC to tell me that my agreement is up and that I can now pay double the monthly amount! Hmm, no, you can have my updated soa and take the pro-rata payment you are given! Blair, Oliver and Scott just asking for an updated offer for Halifax CC, with a paragraph at the bottom to say that I have adhered to the agreement fully and that I have been a good girl basically. How different they are dealing with this account to my AA Loan *shrugging shoulders*
No word as yet from the Financial Ombudsman re The AA/Blair Oliver Scott debacle, but I understand that they do take some time over these things.
Managed to get some items on Ebay too. Yay me!
I could do with OH being away for another week to get even more stuff done…:DPround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Happy Friday Everyone! :hello:
I’ve been in a bit of a hole over the past couple of weeks and am struggling a bit to get out.I’ve made my payments this month, coloured another square in, I’m on top of all of my hiiiyaa!! letters (apart from a newly received one this morning regarding the whole ongoing AA Loan saga) which usually leaves me feeling in control of my situation but I feel far from it. I think my initial gusto which has been getting me through the past 11 months is starting to wane.
This could mostly be due to the struggle I am currently having over the whole AA/Blair, Oliver & Scott/Moorcroft Loan situation. I have to admit that it is wearing me down, which is very hard to admit for me as I don’t like any creditor to have that power over me. The latest news is that Blair, Oliver and Scott and Moorcroft have both now confirmed to me that Moorcroft are now dealing with the account, however both companies and The AA have completely ignored the fact that the money I have been paying them for seven months has not been taken off the account. They are not even acknowledging that there is a problem and I am constantly having to attempt to sort this out and the brick wall I keep hitting is starting to hurt!
I have had a general response from the Financial Ombudsman to inform me that they are looking into the situation and that this will take up to 3 months. The problem is I don’t want to keep forwarding my monthly payments if they are not setting them against the account but I don’t want to stop paying completely and fall behind again.
Also OH is out of work again as his temporary contract has now ended. This puts a strain on the debt busting which is really annoying but we can still manage day-to-day for the next couple of weeks. We have managed to completely curb unnecessary spending and grocery shopping, luckily it’s the summer and we are happy to eat rabbit food for a while!
I’ll try and pick myself up again over the weekend. Positive thinking is needed!Pround to be dealing with my debts! DFW Nerd # 1201

Hi Rainy - sorry that one of your creditors is still not playing ball... Glad most of it is going okay.... Being in debt is wearing - I can so relate to that. It has been 2 years now that we have been trying to tackle our debts and I must admit right now we are going backwards again..... Just shattered from it allAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
