My husband keeps hinting that its his birthday soon, he does it every year, he is actually worse than the kids, i know what he would like, but it costs a fair bit of money, i think i would tie it in as a christmas present aswell. If anyone sees an archos 5 media tablet (i think thats what they are called) anywhere at a very good price, please let me know.
Hi lauhen, have you tried QVC? Remember they have the 30day moneyback guarantee, and they usually have these types of Archos gizmos as a TSSV in the run up to Xmas, although I've had a quick look and the Archos5 asn't had great reviews. Might be worth showing to your husband beore you make an expensive purchase like that?

Oh dear - I've just joined this thread and it looks like I'll be spending the morning reading through it. I love Christmas, and the only way to love it I think is to get well organised very early like many of you on here seem to be doing. No doubt there's loads of ideas in the 76 pages so I'll be back later
If its any help the 1st page, the 1st + 3rd post have links to the previous challenges, dont worry you dont have to clean ur freezers etc, just gives an idea of whats going on.
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Has anyone ever bought theatre tokens and used them, I have not really heard of them before. Maybe I should just stick with ticketmaster.
I gave them to my grandmother. They're not valid in every theatre, but she was able to use them no problems.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

SANTAS CHALLENGE
KITCHEN CUPBOARDS / Draws
MY OH is out a lot this weekend, so this is my weekend task
FOOD LIST
:DNows the time to start listing those extra items needed for xmas
:eek:How many of us buy that jar of cranberry sauce for the turkey, and then run around trying to get one. My fav xmas foodie is packet Brandy sauce, have to buy it when we see it - by Oct, as come xmas there sold out. AGAIN WILL DO AT THE WEEKEND, WILL MAKE SPREADSHEET, AND TICK OFF AS I GO, WE ARE HAVING XMAS LUNCH AT HOME THIS YEAR FOR OUR 5 PLUS 6 OTHERS SO FAR  SO i WILL TRY TO FACTOR IN BOGOFS ETC AND CHECK MYSUPERMARKET.COM TO TRY AND GET EVERYTHING AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE, SOME BOGOFS MAY APPEAR IN SOME OF MY HAMPERS :rotfl:
If you can get the extras list done, and split it between the weeks, save a massive expense, and ur be prepared.
ONE FOR THE MUMS- SCHOOL UNIFORM.
This is done because our schools were back on the 18th, so everything is named and I mean EVERYTHING (pants, socks!!:p)
CHRISTMAS CARDS
DONE - I have a spreadsheet, with names and address and they are colour coded, for International, First Class, Hand Deliver, or Delivery through the Church Post Boxes (15p per card, for local 5 miles radius deliveries, its FAB!!)
I do however, still need to the boys spreadsheet for their classes, friends and L/Os nursery class, but we usually get a list home after the October Holidays which leaves lots of time for that, and plus, my big 2 boys are 7 and 6 and I get them to write their own cards now.
SANTAS SECRET SURPRISE
Let me explain more, ladies we work hard all yr, we organise the xmas shopping, the wrapping, I'm sure some men do help - in my case my poor dad, does all the fetching, carrying and delievering.
:cool:The challenge - make £10.00 between now and Nov's Santas Challenge, whether thats ebay, surveys, cashbacks, got a few things ready to be listed I am sure I can make £10 from that!
KALOJAC - I'm In!!!0 -
Whoop whoop - Count me in on the tenner thing too!!:D
My Cupboards are being done at the weekend, me and OH had already said we would do this so reat minds think alike Mum2one!
Need to plan my foodie bits so will do that at the weekend too.
Christmas card lists are done.
School uniform - well as Pip is 8 months old I really dont need to worry about this one yet. That would be Ridiculously organised wouldnt it!! :rotfl::rotfl:Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Also, a chocolate recipe book??
Clare x
Sorry, well said Clare, that's what I meant, mine didn't make any sense did it?!
I''ve forgotten who's doing the chocolate themed hamper but here are some more ideas...
A chocolate scented pen - these are fab - I had one once and it smelt gorgeous!
Christmas shaped chocolates - you could hand make these from a mould or buy them nearer the time
Gold chocolate coins
For a chocolate reciepe folder I've done a bit of googling and found these...

alternatively if you want to buy a receipe book, The Works sell them cheaply.
How about a share in Cadbury's? I have one and it's so cool! You can buy a special package and you get a certificate but it costs £35, how about just buy one normally? Wouldn't cost anywhere near that much.0 -
Update on the zip wire that I'm doing next week... I got an email from Macmillan today, it's now HIGHER and LONGER than first arranged.... eek! My mum has said she will add ten pounds if my friend and I wear kilts, so we're hopefully going to wear them now to raise more money!0
