    Hi Mum,
Just realised that this thread isn't seperate to mel's thread (Thanks fluffy)
the I'm bored mini challenge doesn't really work for me- am nannying but family I work for are moving to Stafford so only a few more days of work :(

Tomorrow is going to be my crafty day- do bits and pieces here and there but every now and then get together with a couple of crafty friends and craft together- gets a bit competitive and is a good motivator!! (And we have cupcakes) so shall hopefully have lots of progress to report tomorrow evening

    Hi 98dougl

This is a continuation of the Thrifty thread that Jammy and Mel were doing.. Mel has had to take time out due to health and personal trouble,so Mum2one and myself are challenge setters on this new thread.:D

Hope you have a fantastic day crafting tomorrow it sounds great fun ...enjoy the cupcakes xx

Thank you very much for the non mums challenge choccy.
I couldn't come back straight away I had to watch Torchwood first. How exciting is it.
I'm going to have a bubble bath in a sec and I've been knitting tonight.
I'm going to hit a brick wall in a minute though, this Christmas Planner, is it a folder, type thing from organized christmas? Not quite sure what I'm meant to be updating.

Soblivion I think I need to do the non mums challenge aswell ... I asked choccy and she said no :( ... but I think she really meant yes! lol ... I don't have one of these planner thingys either

    Hi girls,

I'm going the non-mum's challenge as mine are adults.

I'll try the different food to eat if I remember it, and I had a Rudolph to-do in any case on my list so I can do that - planning a small photo-album for recipe's which I read about on the Organising Christmas June Rudolph club article.

For those of you asking about Christmas notebooks.. This can be a ringed file or folder where you add printed sheets (from the Organised Christmas site) , recipes, craft instructions , catalogues etc. Then you can also have notebooks, journals etc to make notes and carry in your handbags.

Some people also have extra books they decorate and collage to have a special reminder of the countdowns, with photos, receipts etc.

Last year and the year before I really wanted to create a beautiful christmas folder / file but never managed it so I really must try harder this year!
I went onto the organizedchristmas site last year and went onto the threads about creating and organising and decorating these folders and there are soemamazing ideas on there!

I may try and do both challenges if Choccy allows it!!

Some great ideas there chocolate orange!

I'll opt out of this particular challenge since I don't have a child! ( Damn it - I knew one would come in handy at some point!)

However I have a couple of suggestions for you all....

    Dry Days
    • Treasure Map Challenge (follow the map to find some treats!)
    • One for the girls - collect flowers and dry them out along with some fruit (such as oranges) to make your own pot pouri
    • Scout around the local area and make your own wall map
    • Take out some nature books from the library and use the "keys" to try to identify the plants/flowers/trees in your local park.

    Wet Days
    • Use a big piece of cardboard to make your own board game. When I was around 12 years old I made one with my sister based on a "Lord of the Rings" theme (I loved the Hobbit at the time) and the end was a picture of the Dragon with lots of treasure.
    • Design and perform your own dance routine
    • Script and perform your own play (a huge fav of mine when I was a kid) I used to film my cousins performances using my uncle's video recorder
    • Design your own calendar (using photos/stickers and drawings) - great for Christmas presents!
    • Little kids can make their own musical instruments using seeds/dried rice and paper plates (taped together) , paper cups taped together, empty plastic bottles or tupperware bowls etc
    • Use a blank notebook or scrap book and various photos of children/family members/friends to let them write and illustrate their very own imaginative story
    • Make modelling dough to create your own sculptures (or a bowl for your pot pourri - see above!).
"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)

sorry if I didn't make it clear when I first posted on the thread that Pinkladymel started that this was a new one I thought I had said that this was the thread that would be updated but I am well known for confusing people!!!

Sadly the other one cannot carry on as it used to as noone is able to update the first page or change the title etc etc so it made sense for Mum2one to start this thread as she was doing the challenges on the 24th of the month.

It seems really busy and exciting already over here so it was a good decision I think and I will probably just stick to this thread but thought I would post on the old one to let people know what was happening.

You have seen this before probably but this is the "nerve centre" of all things organised for Christmas!

The Presents Notebook! Write down what I give each year to make sure don't give the same thing twice!

Here is my Organised Christmas folder from last year. I didn' thave time to make a beautiful one (I will this year) but loved getting this out to get organised with!!
