Don't you just love posters who will do anything rather than admit that they made a mistake.

Do you have some sort of protection setting operating in Google?

That search gives me ~6.5 million results.

    Using 'tin foil' it's 7+m.

Something tells me they haven't added millions of articles on the subject in the last half hour. (Unless Custardy has been very busy. :D)

Did you do the search for the phrases using quotation marks? (which is how it was shown on the earlier posts)?
If not, you will get about 6 million results.

Post a screenshot showing over 8 million hits for "we need tinfoil hats" (complete with quotation marks as this is what was shown earlier) as you will get my apology.
If not, you will just be helping to prove my point.

Yeah - and most of them post on here once to say they've been ripped-off, tricked, scammed, conned, duped by Amazon and can't seem to grasp the fact that they need to look in the mirror to see who is to blame.

No, because the search Custardy specified did not include quotes. The quotation marks are there to delimit the search expression.

If you want to specify that the quotation marks are included you need to specify that explicitly because it is not the standard interpretation.

Google "we need tinfoil hats",and you will get over 8 million hits.

Of course the quotation marks are needed, otherwise you are just doing a search for any internet page that contains 4 words that could be totally unrelated to the need for tinfoil hats.

Do a search for "we need tinfoil pajamas" (without the quotation marks) and are there are over 16 million hits, which implies that there are more webpages to do with tinfoil pajamas than there are to do with Amazon prime scams, yet if you do the same search for "we need tinfoil pajamas" with the quotation marks and there are no hits at all.

Does it really matter if people need tin foil hats or tin foil pyjamas?

The truth is people who think they have been ripped-off, tricked, scammed, conned or duped by Amazon are wrong.

They signed up to Amazon Prime.

They may think they didn't but they did.

  • Personally, I think Amazon prime is one of the best ideas they have ever come up with.
The only problem I have with it is that because orders turn up so quickly, I do tend to buy stuff on impulse rather then shopping around or considering if I really need it or not.

There was a letter in this week's computer active by someone whom "fell for the auto-renew" scam, they didn't mention what company it was, but it's all there in black and white that most free trials will end with a paid for service.

Companies which don't roll free trial people straight onto paid-for services must be in the minority.
