I'm just out of contract ona couple of phones I have and I notice that they stipulate that they must have 30 days written notice for cancellation.
I'm no lawyer, but surely I no longer have any legal obligation as the contrct has expired so don't have to give them 30 days notice and pay another months fees. Can I just not pay them and tell them to cancel it over the phone?
Any comments appreciated.

Your contract has not expired.
You have just completed your minimum term - the contract continues indefinitely until either party cancels it - which you can do by giving 30 days notice.0 -
What robt said.
You sign up to an "18 month contract" (as an example), which simply means an 18-month minimum term. It then goes on to a rolling 30-day contract, until either party gives written notice to cancel the agreement as stipulated in your terms and conditions.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009.
