I think Mrs Miller-Turnbull sounds quite nice together & I'm not just saying it .

I think that Mrs Miller-Turnbull sounds nice too, you maybe just need to hear it a few times until you get used to it! I would probably do the same (if my OH ever gets round to popping the question!) and just add his name to the end of mine.

We have a Daughter already and she has his name (wish I had given her mine but thats another story!) so I'd like his name to be somewhere in mine so that my daughter and I have the same name.

Good luck with your big day and I hope you enjoy married life whichever combination of names you decide on!

  • Double barrelling is much more acceptable in "normal" circles these days and doesn't make the owner sound pretentious as it once might've.

I changed my name when I married far too young but I hated my maiden name so it was a welcome change. When my parents finally shuffle off the mortal coil then the family name will go with them. I've kept my married name as my daughter has it and I prefer it :rotfl:

I'm getting married (to the correct person!) in November and have opted to DB as I want to keep the name I share with my daughter, she wishes to keep it as she shares it with her Grandparents whom she is very close to but has also agreed to take my partner's surname as a DB (she calls him Dad). She's already DB now, we changed it last year as her sperm donor agreed to it (it's the law unfortunately) and I wanted to take advantage before he changed his mind. I'll DB once OH and I are married.

    Hopefully that makes sense!!

(My DB is two very common surnames together. I've had it as my FB name for months and asked for opinions. Everyone is positive so that's what my name will become :D )
