Good moring everyone  Not been posting here for a while, but couldn't let the Haribo Family's latest exploits go un-noticed ;) I feel I'd like to know why Dtwin married the dog, but worry about the answer, so I'll let that one go. I'm not surprised that the twins think you're fab to let them sleep in the tent :T When we let 6 14yo girls sleep in our garden, DH and I became the coolest parents in town :j

Had to get up early today to iron my collars - now i don't normally do ironing - in fact i wasn't even sure that we had one - but i have to wear a linen collar with tabs in the newish job. Could have done with some starch really. I found a recipe which requires cornstarch  is that cornflour?

That sounds messy  I have a can of spray starch bought from Tesco. I use it on the children's school shirt collars (to repel dirt rather than to keep them stiff ;) ) and I've had it for 5 years now :D

I'm cooking mussels for tea (special request of the children ;) ) so that'll be an easy supper after work :D

Have a great day, all of you.

Bookwise,i loved dr doolittle, what katydid and 'next, Anne of green gables,as i identified with her having red hair and being [naughty] curious!these were the ones i had by my bed and reread them over again.

    Morning all :hello:

Tired mum that's awful. I hope the police catch them and you can put these awful couple of weeks behind you.

Hillstep..Glad you are coping with the Empty nest syndrome. Good luck to your DD.

Forgot to wish DG's DS good luck on Thursday. :o How did he get on?

Stef... i bet you look great in that uniform. ;)

Penny... re DD... your guess is as good as mine. :o

A very sore Haribo reporting for duty.:o A night in the tent is not to be recommended with a sore back. The girls slept like logs though and I heard lots of wildlife and saw the hedghog snuffling in the borders.

Raining here so I am going to try and catch up with the house. The girls' room is a tip so I'll start there and work my way down.

Tea will be freezer surprise again and lunch will be cous cous salad with the leftover roast veg from last night.

    Take care

    Haribo x

Tired mum (((hugs ))) to you, how can people even think up these things, I hope they find who did it

My OH used to snore at the most incredible decibel I didnt sleep for years ended up on the sofa, couldnt share a hotel room with the kids because none of us had a hope of getting to sleep, he had the operation in march this year and I have to say it was very painful and I felt hideously guilty putting him through it, but after a few days he improved and nowI havent slept on the sofa since!:j it was definitely worth it probably saved our marriage

DD1 is off on work experience, she is so nervous, its her first time catching multiple buses , although I have got her all the timetables and explained each and every step of the way ;) she is working in a dental practice and she has just text me to say she was so nervous she has forgotten to clean her teeth :rotfl:

need to tidy up and hoover, but I dont want put the hoover on till DD has phoned to say she is there

hope you all have a great day xx
  • Morning all,

Been a long time lurker and reader of this thread, but today is my first day as a SAHM (well, mum-to-be - 9 weeks to go!) having left my job on Friday. I am so excited about being able to do even more OSing.

The budget is going to be pretty tight on one salary but fortunately all the OS tips I've been learning over the past few years will come in very handy! I've got the washing on, and just about to walk, yes walk, into town to the market to pick up some veg. No more 90 minute commute each way for me!

I sent DH off to work today with his packed lunch including hm flapjack feeling very proud... it's the little things :-)

Anyway, I am looking forward to joining you on this daily thread over the coming months and learning how to run a house and look after a baby on a teeny weeny budget - where there's a will there's a way!

Have a lovely day everyone, Rebecca x

    Hi everyone,

tiredmum that is a terrible thing to happen. Have the insurance sorted you out yet?

I am off w**k today, went in on Saturday as manager was off sick. We had a fab day and made all our targets and even exceeded some.

OS wise today will go and see if Mr M has any bargains, I have been inspired by the tinned salmon thread so will probably get some. Have washing on the line, will iron tomorrow as DD3 has fracture clinic for check up on her arm tomorrow pm so will want to stay in tomorrow morning.

Brekkie was Shredded Wheat - no OS but healthy
Lunch - feel a salmon sarnie coming on
Dinner tonight - Shepherds Pie and have made a Bread Pudding with the bread left over from communion at church yesterday. Apparently someone usually takes it for their chickens but they were not there so I nabbed it for pud!

Have a good day - Hugs to all that need or want them.
