PlusNet Value £5.99 package V. Misleading

Just to clear up this matter and especially Kim's incorrect statement.I've already checked this and am in a 'Market 3' area so the £5.99 should remain the price after the first three months.
What I am still unclear on is whether I just have to pay the £5.99 per month to PlusNet and keep paying BT for line rental or do I have to change my phone line to PlusNet as well?
You do not have to change your landline to Plusnet. The value package is a standalone package and can be had with a Bt landline.
I can say this with authority as I have had the Value package since March at £5.99 per month and I pay my line rental to BT.
The only proviso of course is as stated earlier you have to be in market 3 exchange.0 -
Stuff you need to know
"Minimum contract length of 18 months applies to Plusnet Value and Plusnet Unlimited. A BT landline is required for all of our Broadband products. Prices displayed are inclusive of VAT

By a BT landline they mean a BT compatible line. So you could have a BT Line a Plusnet line,or a BT compatible line supplied by another supplier.0 -
Don't forget there is usually decent quidco cashback for signing up too.0

Also, while it is a great value package for those that only need basic internet access (ie. no movie downloads or TV streaming), it is worth checking that their expected speeds http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadband/speed.shtml#valuespeeds
to ensure they are compatible with your needs.
I have found that they are very transparent with their information, so check before you commit.
Their Member Centre gives you up-to-date info on your usage and they email you every month to tell you how much your DD will be and when it we be collected.0 -
Thanks to all who replied. I've spoken to PlusNets sales people today and I can keep my BT line so the monthly cost is only £5.99. I just wish they made this clear on their website.0

Don't forget your cashback! Topcashback are giving £25 at the moment.0

You don't have to have your line supplied by BT. What is required is a BT type line (not cable). Who you get the bills from (eg post office/phone co-op etc) doesn't matter.0
